Ours worked most of the time on the SH 60B. We did not trust the switches though. Never spread the blades without someone up there with eyes on those pitch locks.

HS-3, my first squadron (1967-70). Gosh, everything looks different now.

My first operational squadron, too (70-73) Arrived at NAS Quonset Point from the RAG (HS-1, Key West) as an AWAN, went out on training DETs aboard both WASP and INTREPID before the squadron was assigned to CAG aboard FORRESTAL. What a change between CVS and CVA worlds - lots of Starboard Delta plane guard and VERY LITTLE ASW. Venerable SH-3A/D were great helos. And, yes, everything looks greatly different now.

I was in an HH-60H squadron: HCS-5. Helicopter Combat Support Special Squadron FIVE. One of two special squadrons in the Navy at the time.
