This is.. a great video.. i would love it if you could possibly do more of these for the other branches.. there are videos by another channel that covers them but this format works great, alot more clear...thank you for giving me a comprehensive explanation

I try to stay in my lane and talk about what I know about or have experienced, that's why there are basically no videos or mentions of like special forces program unless I just say they're an exception. Hopefully there's an Army or Air Force guy out there covering their stuff hehe

What's up Mr Beck, as always I check out your upload within a few hours of seeing it. It's crazy i have been out of the Air Force for 20 years this past March and still remeber the order of precedence when it comes to the ribbons and the actual instruction that covers dress and appearance AFI 36-2903 crap. Hahaha. The things you remember even decades after getting out is simply crazy. I forgot to ask in my past comments and that is do you plan on doing just one Enlistment? Or possibly make a 20 year career run at this? I forgot if you mentioned this or not in other videos. Either way you're making this fellow Wisconsin vet proud to see a fellow Wisconsinite serving. Also idk if you're a fan of the rock band The Killers, but you sort of look like their lead singer Brandon Flowers when he was younger. Haha. Take care and stay safe out there Haeden. Oh, one last question and maybe you can do a video on it, but what is Fleet Week?
@HaedenBeck3 ай бұрын
Fleet week is a celebration sort of thing where recently deployed ships pull into a major city and the sailors can go hang out in the town. Hey thanks, still a wisconsinite forever. Glad you like the videos. I can't say much about Mr. Flowers, maybe a slight resemblance. I get a bunch of you look like ___ comments lol

I ship out tomorrow for the Navy and I will be MA. You should do a video about Nutrition camp because recruiters don’t know anything about it

Good Video! Great coverage. The longer you stay in, the longer more you will add to this. If you ever need some help or have any questions about ribbons or personal medal decorations, feel free to lmk. I have a lot of knowledge on the topic (I’m a YNC lol) and I have a good amount of them both! Catch you on the next one! Keep up the good Work! It’s inspiring!

I’ve been trying to find stuff for IS but it’s so impossible *obviously due to its secrecy* but you’ve been helpful with background information. Thank you
@HaedenBeck3 ай бұрын
I'm not an IS and don't recall giving info on it but if you google Navy COOL for IS you'll get the information card that recruiters hand out and it says plenty about that rating, and every rating.

Interesting. I didn't know you could earn medals during basic training. I wasn't on basic, I had already entered paratrooper school (umbrella term for airborne infantry in my country) and in a static line jump, I landed near one of my guys and noticed something "just wasn't right", that gut feeling. He had broken his leg on landing. I get there, assess the situation, provided first aid, fired the flare gun and popped red smoke (to be used when something goes wrong so the orbiting medivac helos can quickly arrive). 3 day later I get called to the commandant's office and I'm thinking "Aw **** what did I do?" and I was presented with, translation would be, the "Medical Service Medal" (medics get the "Medical Service Cross" once they finish that school). I had marksmanship badges with pistol and rifle, but, to this day, I really cherish that medal more than any of the others. Cherry on top, the guy finished paratrooper school the next year, so happy ending for everybody.

Hey im a 3rd class ive been in for 1 year, the only ribbon and medal i have is my national defense one. Do i wear those on opposite sides of each other?
@HaedenBeck3 ай бұрын
They stopped awarding the NDSM in december 2022, the last guys left RTC with it in the beginning of 2023 I believe, is that you? If the NDSM is your only award you just wear the ribbon or the full size medal on the left side over your heart. If you have the NDSM and pistol marksman the medal is on the left over your heart and the ribbon is by itself on the right side. If you're wearing ribbons the two ribbons are together with the NDSM being first and then the pistol ribbon.

Also, you hitting third class as a BM in less than a year is pretty sus since y’all don’t get E4 out of A-school. Sorry I don’t wanna call BS but it’s pretty blatant not to.
