Watched USGA online feature group, Scottie poor putting, Xander roller coaster, Rory flat. Todd Lewis, Johnson "greatest chipper" Wagner and Jim Gallagher great coverage. I did post a couple of days ago the golfing gods may do a Nelly to Scottie! Hope weekend is exciting, no one pulls away. Great pod per usual.

Absolutely right! He certainly is no average first timer. In fact, I'd choose him as the favorite to win right now.

Exactly, very pleased that Åberg 🇸🇪didn't have to play with that sloth-golfer.. 👍

@@srixongolfer3706 He has to follow him tomorrow. Could be just as bad. Maybe Aberg and DeChambeau could start up a pinochle game or do Texas Tech - SMU rivalry contests.

Like I told ya’ll for weeks - comparing Scheffler to prime Tiger Woods would age horribly, and today showcased that perfectly. Scheffler is not even close, the PGAT is weaker than ever due to the LIV split, Tiger had it much harder.

Scottie v the field....ha ha ha...the US golf media calling him unbeatable.....its ridiculous....he was lucky to make the cut!

‘Scheffler is playing as good as prime Tiger Woods’ has been the cringiest one to me that I’ve heard for months, playing against the weakest PGAT fields there’s been in history. Tiger did not have LIV to split up the real top 50 players or else he would have won even more PGAT events 😂

If you go back to your podcast just after the Masters finished, you will find a comment from me in which I said the Masters will be Scottie's only Major in 2024, and that he has only won 1 Major, the Masters...yes he won it twice, but he hasn't won any other Major yet! And would he have won 5 times this year if the fields included the top LIV golfers...I doubt it.

I've been skeptical about Scheffler this week because the Memorial was a stress-fest. There has to be a fatigue factor after the work he had to to over the weekend in Columbus. Don't expect Nicklaus to do Monahan any more favors on the scheduling of the Memorial.

People on twitter are just whining that it looked like for the first time in almost 2 years Scottie Schieffler would have a weekend off. I had a feeling till the cut was set which was 74 at +5, they were going to be easy. Now that the cut is set, Oh my god, here we go. USGA should have fun. 15 guys are under par. I expect the number under par to be lowered down for sure.

I don't think the USGA is shooting for a repeat of Winged Foot in 1974 (+7 winning). But they also were not pleased when Congressional and Erin Hills turned into birdie fests. They want a round of even par to mean a player had a good day, but to allow someone who gets really hot to do better. Nothing wrong with that.

So, now Tiger gets 'special exemption' into the PGAT signature events....no corruption on the PGAT board...

I recognize Tiger's all screw up right now and I've been bashing him for the way he managed his career regarding injuries and swing changes since right before his 2008 major win. I mean, the guy by his age today should've gotten more than 20 majors and over 100 wins on the PGAT with easy! But anyways, any exemptions he gets from here on until he can't play 4 rounds no more, he's earned them 10 times over thru his records. If someone wants to take his spot, they have to be more than enough golfer and at their right time, no more no less, and not try taking'em away from dudes who paid the price, period.

according to US Open and PGA Tour websites, Rory is teeing it up with Tony Finau and Cantlay with Detry. I don't know why Rex and Lav talked about Rory vs Cantlay unless they did the podcast before Pavon fell back.
