Allah سبحانه وتعالى said, إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَسَيُنفِقُونَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسْرَةً ثُمَّ يُغْلَبُونَ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ يُحْشَرُونَ Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder from the Path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcome. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto Jahannam. [Al-Anfaal 8:36] أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَأْتِي الْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ لَا مُعَقِّبَ لِحُكْمِهِ ۚ وَهُوَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ See they not that We gradually reduce the land (of the disbelievers, by giving it to the believers, in war victories) from its outlying borders? And Allah Judges, there is none to put back His Judgement and He is Swift at reckoning. وَقَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلِلَّهِ الْمَكْرُ جَمِيعًا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ الْكُفَّارُ لِمَنْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ And verily those before them did devise plots, but all planning is Allah's. He knows what every person earns, and the disbelievers will know who gets the good end (final destination). [Ar-Ra'd 13:41-42] أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ Or say they: "We are a great multitude, victorious?" سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs. [Al-Qamar 54:44-45] وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللَّهَ غَافِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ ۚ Consider not that Allah is unaware of that which the polytheist wrong-doers do. [Ibraheem 14:42] فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً ۖ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۖ وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ They were arrogant on the earth without right, and they said: "Who is mightier than us in strength?" See they not that Allah who created them was mightier in strength than them? And they used to deny Our Ayat (Signs)! فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي أَيَّامٍ نَّحِسَاتٍ لِّنُذِيقَهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَخْزَىٰ ۖ وَهُمْ لَا يُنصَرُونَ So We sent upon them a furious wind in days of evil omen (for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life. But surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped. [Fussilat 41:15-16] أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِي السَّمَاءِ أَن يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ Or do you feel secure that He who is over the heaven will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning. [Al-Mulk 67:17] تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا لَا يُرَىٰ إِلَّا مَسَاكِنُهُمْ ۚ كَذَ‌ٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ Destroying everything by the Command of its Lord! So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings! Thus do We recompense the people who are Mujrimun (criminal polytheist disbelievers). [Al-Ahqaaf 46:25] إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُ ۚ وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ If a wound has touched you (believers), be sure a similar wound has touched the others (disbelievers). And so are the days (good and not so good), We give it to men by turns, that Allah may test those who believe, and that He may take Shuhada (Martyrs) from among you (believers). And Allah likes not the polytheist wrong-doers. [Ãal-'Imraan 3:140] قَاتِلُوهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللَّهُ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِينَ Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts (hearts) of a believing people, وَيُذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ And remove the anger of their (believers') hearts. Allah accepts the repentance of whom He wills. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. [At-Taubah 9:14-15] قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ وَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ Say to those who disbelieve: "You will be defeated and you will be gathered together to Jahannam, and worst indeed is that place to rest. [Ãal-'Imraan 3:12]

Allah سبحانه وتعالى said, وَقَالُوا مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ ۚ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَ‌ٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ And they say: "There is nothing but our life of this world, we die and we live and nothing destroys us except time." And they have no knowledge of it: they only conjecture. [Al-Jaathiyah 45:24] بَلْ قَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْأَوَّلُونَ Nay, but they say the like of what the ancients said, قَالُوا أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ They said: "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we indeed be resurrected?" لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَـٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ "Indeed we have been promised this - we and our fathers before (us)! This is only the tales of the ancients!" [Al-Mu'minun 23:81-83] قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees). [Qaf 50:4] ا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا أَصْغَرُ مِن ذَ‌ٰلِكَ وَلَا أَكْبَرُ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ Not even the weight of an atom or less than that or greater escapes His Knowledge in the heavens or in the earth except that it is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz - the Book of Decrees). [Saba' 34:3] إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments). [Al-Qamar 54:49] وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِندَهُ بِمِقْدَارٍ And everything with Him is in (due) measure. [Ar-Ra'd 13:8] لِتَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا So that you may know that Allah is able to do all things, and that Allah has indeed encompassed all things with Knowledge. [At-Talaaq 65:12] كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَأَغْلِبَنَّ أَنَا وَرُسُلِي ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ Allah has decreed: "Verily, it is I and My Messengers who shall be the victorious." Verily, Allah is All-Powerful, All-Mighty. [Al-Mujaadilah 58:21] وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ And that verily Our troops! they will verily be the victors. [As-Saaffaat 37:173 بِنَصْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَاءُ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ With the help of Allah. He helps whom He wills, and He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. وَعْدَ اللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (It is) a Promise of Allah, and Allah fails not in His Promise, but most of the mankind know not. يَعْلَمُونَ ظَاهِرًا مِّنَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ الْآخِرَةِ هُمْ غَافِلُونَ They know only the outside appearance of the life of the world, and they are of the Hereafter, heedless. [Ar-Rum 30:6-7]

Allah سبحانه وتعالى said, أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَيْطِرُونَ Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like? أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ Or have they a stairway (to heaven) by means of which they (i.e. their Jinn gods) listen (to the talks of the Malãa'ikah (angels) and then convey it to Kuhhan (oracles))? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. [At-Tur 52:36-37] فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا دَابَّةُ الْأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُ ۖ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ الْجِنُّ أَن لَّوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ الْغَيْبَ مَا لَبِثُوا فِي الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ Then when We decreed death for him [Prophet Solomon عليه السلام), nothing informed them (the Jinn) of his death except a little worm of the earth which kept (slowly) gnawing away at his stick. So when he fell down, the Jinn saw clearly that if they had known the Ghayb (Unseen and future events), they would not have remained in the humiliating torment (of labouring for Solomon عليه السلام). [Saba' 34:14] قُل لَّا يَعْلَمُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۚ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ Say: "None in the heavens and the earth knows the Ghayb (Unseen) except Allah. Nor can they perceive when they shall be resurrected." [An-Naml 27:65] وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ And indeed, We have destroyed your likes; then is there anyone that will remember (or receive admonition)? [Al-Qamar 54:51] غُلِبَتِ الرُّومُ The romans have been defeated. [Ar-Rum 30:2] فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ سَلَفًا وَمَثَلًا لِّلْآخِرِينَ And We made them a precedent (as a lesson for those coming after them), and an example to later generations. [Az-Zukhruf 43:56] وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ ۖ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ And every nation has its appointed term; when their term comes, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour. [Al-A'raaf 7:34] أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا هُمْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ Have they not travelled in the land and seen what was the end of those who were before them? They were superior to them in strength, and in the traces (they left behind) in the land. But Allah seized them with punishment for their sins. And none had they to protect them from Allah. [Ghaafir 40:21] وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ And We did not send a warner to any township except that those who were given the worldly wealth and luxuries among them said: "We believe not in the (Message) with which you have been sent." [Saba' 34:34] وَإِذَا أَرَدْنَا أَن نُّهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا تَدْمِيرًا And when We decide to destroy a town (population), We (first) send a definite order to those among them who lead a life of luxury. Then they transgress therein, and thus the Word is justified against it. Then We destroy it with complete destruction. [Al-Israa' 17:16]

Allah سبحانه وتعالى said, وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ And when it is said to them: "Follow that which Allah has sent down!" They say: _"Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following)."_ (Would they do so) even if Shaytan (Satan) invites them to the torment of the blazing Fire? [Luqmaan 31:21] أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آبَاؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ (Would they do so) even though their fathers did not understand anything nor were they guided? [Al-Baqarah 2:170] إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءَهُمْ ضَالِّينَ Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path, فَهُمْ عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ So they (too) hastened in their footsteps! وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ And indeed most of the men of old (ancients) went astray before them (similarly); وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers). [As-Saaffaat 37:69-72] فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرِحُوا بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ Then when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were glad (and proud) with that which they had of the knowledge (of worldly things). And that which they used to mock at, surrounded them (i.e. the punishment). [Ghaafir 40:83] وَكَذَ‌ٰلِكَ مَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَا إِنَّا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءَنَا عَلَىٰ أُمَّةٍ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِم مُّقْتَدُونَ And similarly, We sent not a warner before you (O Muhammad ﷺ) to any town (people) except that the luxurious ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we will indeed follow their footsteps, imitating." قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكُم بِأَهْدَىٰ مِمَّا وَجَدتُّمْ عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ (The warner) said: "Even if I bring you better guidance than that which you found your fathers following?" They said: "Verily, we are of that with which you have been sent, disbelievers." [Az-Zukhruf 43:23-24] قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَلْفِتَنَا عَمَّا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا وَتَكُونَ لَكُمَا الْكِبْرِيَاءُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكُمَا بِمُؤْمِنِينَ They said: "Have you come to us to turn us away from that which we found our fathers following, and that you may have greatness in the land? We are not going to believe you!" [Yunus 10:78] وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا ۖ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ And those who disbelieved said to their Messengers: "Verily, we shall drive you out of our land, or you shall return to our Millah (way of life, religion)." So their Lord revealed to them: "Verily, We shall destroy the polytheist wrong-doers." [Ibraheem 14:13] وَمَا مَنَعَ النَّاسَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا إِذْ جَاءَهُمُ الْهُدَىٰ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّهُمْ إِلَّا أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ قُبُلًا And nothing prevents the people from believing when the guidance (the Qur'an) has come to them, and from asking Forgiveness of their Lord, except that the ways of the ancients be repeated with them, or the torment be brought to them face to face. [Al-Kahf 18:55] فَأَهْلَكْنَا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ الْأَوَّلِينَ Then We destroyed (polytheists) stronger than these (in) power - and the example of the ancients has passed. [Az-Zukhruf 43:8]

Allah سبحانه وتعالى said, إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَسَيُنفِقُونَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسْرَةً ثُمَّ يُغْلَبُونَ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ يُحْشَرُونَ Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder from the Path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcome. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto Jahannam. [Al-Anfaal 8:36] أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَأْتِي الْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ لَا مُعَقِّبَ لِحُكْمِهِ ۚ وَهُوَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ See they not that We gradually reduce the land (of the disbelievers, by giving it to the believers, in war victories) from its outlying borders? And Allah Judges, there is none to put back His Judgement and He is Swift at reckoning. وَقَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلِلَّهِ الْمَكْرُ جَمِيعًا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ الْكُفَّارُ لِمَنْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ And verily those before them did devise plots, but all planning is Allah's. He knows what every person earns, and the disbelievers will know who gets the good end (final destination). [Ar-Ra'd 13:41-42] أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ Or say they: "We are a great multitude, victorious?" سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs. [Al-Qamar 54:44-45] وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللَّهَ غَافِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ ۚ Consider not that Allah is unaware of that which the polytheist wrong-doers do. [Ibraheem 14:42] فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً ۖ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۖ وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ They were arrogant on the earth without right, and they said: "Who is mightier than us in strength?" See they not that Allah who created them was mightier in strength than them? And they used to deny Our Ayat (Signs)! فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي أَيَّامٍ نَّحِسَاتٍ لِّنُذِيقَهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَخْزَىٰ ۖ وَهُمْ لَا يُنصَرُونَ So We sent upon them a furious wind in days of evil omen (for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life. But surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped. [Fussilat 41:15-16] أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِي السَّمَاءِ أَن يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ Or do you feel secure that He who is over the heaven will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning. [Al-Mulk 67:17] تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا لَا يُرَىٰ إِلَّا مَسَاكِنُهُمْ ۚ كَذَ‌ٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ Destroying everything by the Command of its Lord! So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings! Thus do We recompense the people who are Mujrimun (criminal polytheist disbelievers). [Al-Ahqaaf 46:25] إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُ ۚ وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ If a wound has touched you (believers), be sure a similar wound has touched the others (disbelievers). And so are the days (good and not so good), We give it to men by turns, that Allah may test those who believe, and that He may take Shuhada (Martyrs) from among you (believers). And Allah likes not the polytheist wrong-doers. [Ãal-'Imraan 3:140] قَاتِلُوهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللَّهُ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِينَ Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts (hearts) of a believing people, وَيُذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ And remove the anger of their (believers') hearts. Allah accepts the repentance of whom He wills. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. [At-Taubah 9:14-15] قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ وَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ Say to those who disbelieve: "You will be defeated and you will be gathered together to Jahannam, and worst indeed is that place to rest. [Ãal-'Imraan 3:12]

Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. [At-Tur 52:36-37] فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا دَابَّةُ الْأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُ ۖ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ الْجِنُّ أَن لَّوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ الْغَيْبَ مَا لَبِثُوا فِي الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ Then when We decreed death for him [Prophet Solomon عليه السلام), nothing informed them (the Jinn) of his death except a little worm of the earth which kept (slowly) gnawing away at his stick. So when he fell down, the Jinn saw clearly that if they had known the Ghayb (Unseen and future events), they would not have remained in the humiliating torment (of labouring for Solomon عليه السلام). [Saba' 34:14] قُل لَّا يَعْلَمُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۚ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ Say: "None in the heavens and the earth knows the Ghayb (Unseen) except Allah. Nor can they perceive when they shall be resurrected." [An-Naml 27:65] وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ And indeed, We have destroyed your likes; then is there anyone that will remember (or receive admonition)? [Al-Qamar 54:51] غُلِبَتِ الرُّومُ The romans have been defeated. [Ar-Rum 30:2] فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ سَلَفًا وَمَثَلًا لِّلْآخِرِينَ And We made them a precedent (as a lesson for those coming after them), and an example to later generations. [Az-Zukhruf 43:56] وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ ۖ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ And every nation has its appointed term; when their term comes, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour. [Al-A'raaf 7:34] أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا هُمْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ Have they not travelled in the land and seen what was the end of those who were before them? They were superior to them in strength, and in the traces (they left behind) in the land. But Allah seized them with punishment for their sins. And none had they to protect them from Allah. [Ghaafir 40:21] وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ And We did not send a warner to any township except that those who were given the worldly wealth and luxuries among them said: "We believe not in the (Message) with which you have been sent." [Saba' 34:34] وَإِذَا أَرَدْنَا أَن نُّهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا تَدْمِيرًا And when We decide to destroy a town (population), We (first) send a definite order to those among them who lead a life of luxury. Then they transgress therein, and thus the Word is justified against it. Then We destroy it with complete destruction. [Al-Israa' 17:16]

And they have no knowledge of it: they only conjecture. [Al-Jaathiyah 45:24] بَلْ قَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْأَوَّلُونَ Nay, but they say the like of what the ancients said, قَالُوا أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ They said: "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we indeed be resurrected?" لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَـٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ "Indeed we have been promised this - we and our fathers before (us)! This is only the tales of the ancients!" [Al-Mu'minun 23:81-83] قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees). [Qaf 50:4] ا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا أَصْغَرُ مِن ذَ‌ٰلِكَ وَلَا أَكْبَرُ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ Not even the weight of an atom or less than that or greater escapes His Knowledge in the heavens or in the earth except that it is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz - the Book of Decrees). [Saba' 34:3] إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments). [Al-Qamar 54:49] وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِندَهُ بِمِقْدَارٍ And everything with Him is in (due) measure. [Ar-Ra'd 13:8] لِتَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا So that you may know that Allah is able to do all things, and that Allah has indeed encompassed all things with Knowledge. [At-Talaaq 65:12] كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَأَغْلِبَنَّ أَنَا وَرُسُلِي ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ Allah has decreed: "Verily, it is I and My Messengers who shall be the victorious." Verily, Allah is All-Powerful, All-Mighty. [Al-Mujaadilah 58:21] وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ And that verily Our troops! they will verily be the victors. [As-Saaffaat 37:173 بِنَصْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَاءُ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ With the help of Allah. He helps whom He wills, and He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. وَعْدَ اللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (It is) a Promise of Allah, and Allah fails not in His Promise, but most of the mankind know not. يَعْلَمُونَ ظَاهِرًا مِّنَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ الْآخِرَةِ هُمْ غَافِلُونَ They know only the outside appearance of the life of the world, and they are of the Hereafter, heedless. [Ar-Rum 30:6-7]

Allah سبحانه وتعالى said, وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ And when it is said to them: "Follow that which Allah has sent down!" They say: _"Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following)."_ (Would they do so) even if Shaytan (Satan) invites them to the torment of the blazing Fire? [Luqmaan 31:21] أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آبَاؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ (Would they do so) even though their fathers did not understand anything nor were they guided? [Al-Baqarah 2:170] إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءَهُمْ ضَالِّينَ Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path, فَهُمْ عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ So they (too) hastened in their footsteps! وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ And indeed most of the men of old (ancients) went astray before them (similarly); وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers). [As-Saaffaat 37:69-72] فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرِحُوا بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ Then when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were glad (and proud) with that which they had of the knowledge (of worldly things). And that which they used to mock at, surrounded them (i.e. the punishment). [Ghaafir 40:83] وَكَذَ‌ٰلِكَ مَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَا إِنَّا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءَنَا عَلَىٰ أُمَّةٍ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِم مُّقْتَدُونَ And similarly, We sent not a warner before you (O Muhammad ﷺ) to any town (people) except that the luxurious ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we will indeed follow their footsteps, imitating." قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكُم بِأَهْدَىٰ مِمَّا وَجَدتُّمْ عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ (The warner) said: "Even if I bring you better guidance than that which you found your fathers following?" They said: "Verily, we are of that with which you have been sent, disbelievers." [Az-Zukhruf 43:23-24] قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَلْفِتَنَا عَمَّا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا وَتَكُونَ لَكُمَا الْكِبْرِيَاءُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكُمَا بِمُؤْمِنِينَ They said: "Have you come to us to turn us away from that which we found our fathers following, and that you may have greatness in the land? We are not going to believe you!" [Yunus 10:78] وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا ۖ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ And those who disbelieved said to their Messengers: "Verily, we shall drive you out of our land, or you shall return to our Millah (way of life, religion)." So their Lord revealed to them: "Verily, We shall destroy the polytheist wrong-doers." [Ibraheem 14:13] وَمَا مَنَعَ النَّاسَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا إِذْ جَاءَهُمُ الْهُدَىٰ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّهُمْ إِلَّا أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ قُبُلًا And nothing prevents the people from believing when the guidance (the Qur'an) has come to them, and from asking Forgiveness of their Lord, except that the ways of the ancients be repeated with them, or the torment be brought to them face to face. [Al-Kahf 18:55] فَأَهْلَكْنَا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ الْأَوَّلِينَ Then We destroyed (polytheists) stronger than these (in) power - and the example of the ancients has passed. [Az-Zukhruf 43:8]
