Although its never been comfirmed as it being a remix or by who, Pete Tong played the same version around about the same time on the Radio 1 comic relief event. I would not be suprised if this was an edit/remix by Paul Oakenfold as he was working officially remixing U2 at the time.

Only Oakey and Tong had it, apparently....I certainly don't know anybody with a copy

Likely that only Oakey had this, given his history with U2. This version is almost identical to the album version, with a little bit more bass and a much extended intro.

It almost made it onto an official Tongy mix Essential CD. It was printed as being on the CD but when it was released it had been pulled. Only ever heard Oakey and Tong play it out.
