I'm coaching my daughter's team and I'm a first-timer! I am loving these ideas! Thank you! It's so nice to see all the other people who coached for the first time because I don't feel alone! LOL

I can't stand these "games". Get right into soccer. In a simple way. Learn the boundaries first (you did that). Learn the basics. No need to do the games; it's just confusing. My 5 yr old took a soccer class and the rules for the games were more confusing than the rules of soccer and it ate up valuable time trying to explain it to 5 yr olds and get them to understand. It's overkill. Let them kick a ball into a net. Let them dribble. Maybe some passing. That said, maybe I'm too serious. But I honestly felt like the kids just wanted to play soccer and weren't that interested in the "games" (at my son's class that is). The kids in the video do seem to be liking it ok; maybe I just had bad teachers; they were young kids, maybe college or high school kids running the class. This guy is much more professional so that might be part of it.

The reason for games is to make them have fun, a quick fun game at the end of practice that includes them doing good running without thinking about running can help them get in better shape/health. teaching kids to enjoy the game is the best part of youth. last 10 mins of practice can be a fun game to make sure kids know soccer can be fun. as they get older the fun games shrink down, just my opinion- i respect yours a lot though!

@@mekhiortega7446 dude, soccer is a what?... it's a GAME.... why do you need other games and not let them play the game they are supposed to be playing. i don't get it.
