UA Geologist George Davis Explains our Sky Island Mountains

In Tucson, we live in an area that geologists call the "basin and range province," a region that covers much of the western United States. The mountain ranges that rise above our desert basins are often called Sky Islands, and they make our region unique. George Davis, a UA geologist who helped discover the geologic history of the basin and range province, explains the geology our Sky Islands region.
