He said, "I'm tired of listening to 'it' (not him)". The "it" he was referring to was the disrespectful interrupting from the players. The coach (who is actually going to lose money and be out of a job because of this) is handling it a lot better than most of these players that aren't getting paid anyways, most likely never were going to go to the NFL anyways, and can easily transfer if they truly are NFL-caliber. The coach (who likely has a family and kids to feed, unlike the players) is in a lot worse of a position and he still handled it like a man. Now did the old guy making the announcement do a good job at telling these players that the decision was made to cut football? No, he did a terrible job. It could have gone A LOT smoother if he just stuck to the financial element. Instead of saying, "nobody cares about UAB football more than I do" (which was an incredibly stupid thing to say), he should have just said, "Look, I dont want football to go away either, but it's just not financially sustainable to continue the program. We're losing money and we can't continue to dig ourselves into debt. It has nothing to do with you guys (referring to the players) or your ability to play the game. This is all economics and has nothing to do with you. Im sincerely sorry this is happening to you. Thank you for your years of dedication to UAB football. If you stay, you scholarships will still be honored. If you decide to transfer, I completely understand and wish you the best of luck."

Good! Football is a piece of shit sport that is filled to the brim with woman beaters, rapists, absent fathers, and people who should by all means be labelled as felons for life but are let off the hook easy because some billionaire team owner hired a million-dollar lawyer for them to have an undeserved "Get out of Jail Free" card. Furthermore, it creates a very toxic, anti-intellectual environment on campus by leaving an open invitation for future woman beaters, rapists, absent fathers, and likely future felons to attend classes and act like they deserve some decent place in American society. Players are given a free pass on having shitty grades, free passes for not just bad but horribly criminal behavior, and basically allowed to do almost anything they like on campus for absolutely no reason other than the fact that they just so happen to spend lots of time playing a game that was designed for children and was adored by blithering, drunk retards. Notice the use of the word "was" in that last sentence. Thank you God and Jesus Christ for sending Colin Kaepernick into the NFL and starting the unstoppable chain reaction which will without any doubt completely destroy everything that league used to be. UAB is doing nothing wrong in any way with this move to cut the program; they are simply correcting a terrible injustice which has been forced on the students who actually go to the school for the right reasons, and they are taking away the ridiculously stupid free lunch ticket that all of the ogre-looking pieces of shit on the gridiron should have never been given in the first place. Next step is to cut about half of the Liberal Arts "education" programs and then the school will be able to start returning back to a place of knowledge instead of the place of feelings and football jocks that it devolved into over the last fifty years.
@Nick_45457 жыл бұрын

At first, I understood how messed up this was for the guys, but later on as the guys got more detailed with their emotions it made me realize how complex this really is. It's truly fascinating to watch this unfold because it's so damn civil. I couldn't help but notice the guy trying to cancel the program kept saying things like "I have the same passion as you," or "I care as much about UAB as you do" which did nothing but cause uproar. Never tell emotionally charged people that you understand them because even if you did (which likely is not the case), they aren't going to buy it. So sad, so civil, so interesting.

This video is just pure human emotion. I’m not huge on football so I can’t really speak on their sport, but their passion and drive to make a program that they knew was dying work out the best they can only to have it end on them is devastating. They handled this awful news the best way they could. It destroys me to know these people who gave their hearts to this program just lost it all at the end. So upsetting man.

Sorry bro, I was homeless for my senior year in 2012. I was a starter and had to get a job as a dish washer just so I could eat. I missed a couple games and just decided I couldn’t play anymore. Shit happens but I promise you’ll get another shot if you go the college route.
