It’s very naive to think that the units will come online in 2023 when construction is still in the 80s% and 90s% as stated. There’s hundreds of ITAACs that need to be documented, reviewed, and approved by the regulator before they can be closed and approval to operate is granted.

Unit 3 entered commercial operation earlier this year. So only one unit left to start up.

@@borizh That's Korean builders for you, a big part of this is they have the construction knowledge on building this on time since they have an active nuclear buildout domestically. They made the 4 units in just 12 years with 9 years per unit which is already slow for their standards as they make units domestically as fast as only 7 years. Only China builds as fast currently since they also have an active buildout program which keeps the workforce and experience fresh.

Koreans buildings are made to collapse, bridge in Palao and Seoul, buildings in and out of Korea like Sampun department store (三富百貨店)in Seoul, metal plants in Indonesia, killing hundreds of people. Tilting buildings in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Many more failed buildings in the world builded by the Koreans. In this project in UAE, Korean joint builders didn't have enough knowledge of building power plant and construction, ended up requiring the help from Toshiba Cooperation for their expertise on building a nuclear power plant in 2014. Experts found that too many cracks in the concrete walls which also happened in the nuclear plant in Korea itself. This is the very first time Korean engineers build a nuclear power station outside of Korea, I only hope this power plant will stand for a long time without causing any serious damage or problems. I don't understand why the UAE has decided to award the project to Korea instead of France or Japan which has many nuclear power stations built end in their country that I presume there's no shortage of money for this kind of project which has absolutely no room for error.
