I love Katz's deli. The one thing I would reccomend is order your sandwich on a club roll. The club roll may be more bread than you may want for your sandwich, BUT it holds the meat better than the rye which falls apart in your hands and it is much easier to eat the meat off the sandwich to trim it down enough to make it a perfect hand held bite. I am not saying the rye is a bad bite, but the club roll makes it easier to hold while eating and I do not think takes away from the flavor of the sandwich.

As a native New Yorker, we love Katz, and it's always been a crowded place to eat, but even more crowded because of social media. The prices are sky high and tourists more than the natives will spend that much on a sandwich. It's def enough food to share, so you are getting your money's worth! I honestly like the hot dogs more than anything. The pastrami is very good, but it's so much of it, you get full fast. I do think it's a place that people should visit, just know you will spend some cash!

Fat content levels at 4:36. You can ask for low, medium, or high fat content at many delis and the guy will cut it like that for you. I'm an 81 year old American. I've lived in New York all my life except for the times I've lived in Casablanca, Sydney, Copenhagen, Paris, Acapulco, Montreal, Munich, Milan, Bucharest, Prague, Kiev, Vienna, Buenos Aires, Bora Bora, Amsterdam and Manilla. Government work. I'm a 250 pound guy - never missed a meal. Paris has 44,000 restaurants, all of them good. They have to be to survive more than two weeks there - the French, especially Parisians are very fussy, and outspoken. I speak fluent French and I know how and what to order. Theirs is some of the finest food in the world. Italy is a close second, but they can be a little heavy-handed. I've eaten kangaroo (awful,) rattlesnake (mild,) and passed on monkey brains. Pass on Germany altogether. Bottom line? Katz's better than, and cheaper than the best eatery in Paris or Milan. And of course light years above all the rest. It is the tastiest, most satisfying and most memorable food you will ever eat. I would rather have a $30.00 pastrami sandwich at Katz's than a Wagyu Cote de Boeuf Westholme Wagyu, $255 steak at the magnificent Delmonico's. Value is a relative thing. I've had $1,000 dinners at Delmonico's in New York, The Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills, and Guy Savoy in Paris. Katz's is not only better - but a genuine BARGAIN price wise. It's just too raucus and generally noisy and crowded for a business lunch - take those to The Old Homestead, a truly great NY steakhouse. Prices start at $100.

UA does a wonderful job of demonstrating what happens when you try to pick up a Katz's sandwich with one hand while trying to shoot video on his phone with the other... Moral of the story: Use two hands to pick it up. Add mustard before each bite so the bread doesn't get needlessly soggy. And, the price is actually quite fair considering the combo of quality and quantity in their sandwiches. Yeah, you could get a pastrami sandwich somewhere else, save $8-10 and get half the meat that's not nearly as good.
