The Ukranian drone operators are doing some very powerful things to make the fuels needed for the military forces of Russia more and more scarce. The US IMPORTS oil from various countries, the largest amounts of imported oil comes from Canada. It's "heavy crude" which requires different refining processes than "light oil". Drilling or exploration for oil in the US isn't feasible because there are few, if any refineries capable of using "light crude".
