They Are Humans Too - How Ukraine Treats Those Who Came to Kill It | Russian POW Camp in Ukraine

There are different prisoners in this camp, from different countries (Russian citizens and foreign mercenaries too), but they all are under the protection of the Geneva Conventions on Prisoners of War - treated well, receiving food and able to contact their relatives. It is Ukraine's obligation to treat them well but what happens with Ukrainian POWs in Russian detention places is similar to horror stories but in real life.

I saw vids of Ukrainian soldiers returning home after exchange ( if they where lucky enough to survive captivity) and all of them looked so malnurished and broken, like they've just been out of Auschwitz or place like that!...yet Ukraine does everything in their power to abide by the GC. This is the way Ukraine WINS, with their golden hearts💙💛💙💛

It brings me to tears when I see how badly and inhumanely the Ukrainian POW'S are treated! In comparison the Russians are treated with compassion and respect, they probably never lived as well as they do in Ukrainian captivity! I hope and pray for the Ukrainians sake that justice will prevail when Ukraine wins this war! ❤❤

The better you treat the POWs. The more positive view they will have of Ukraine, on return to Russia. They will tell their friends and family about their positive experience. Counteracting the narrative portrayed by the Russian government. 😉

I would like to see a video with the reactions of russian POWs being shown pictures of returning Ukrainian prisoners... one of the Chornobyl defenders was released in the last prisoner swap, after over two years, and pictures of his emaciated body have been circulated (I hope and imagine with his full consent) - he literally looks like one the men who were in nazi concentration camps immediately after liberation. Literally. I would like to hear what these guys have to say about that.

Humane treatment of POWs is both ethical AND a military advantage. With prisoner exchanges, word gets around eventually. Going back to WW2, think how much easier is was for the US to get (non-SS) Germans to surrender in 1945 than the Soviets. An entire German army broke out of a Soviet encirclement, resulting in heavy German & Soviet casualties, just in order to surrender to the Americans rather than the USSR.

This is one of the most difficult conditions to abide by in the just war concept which is treating captured enemies humanely despite all the atrocities they have inflicted upon the other side. Ukraine is truly blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ for fulfilling his commandment of 'love thy enemy' and for that they will be granted victory in the coming months for they have become peacemakers through self-defense not vengeance. God bless Ukraine🙏🙏🙏

Ukraine has treated POWs with humanity since the beginning. I have been keeping up with the war since seeing a channel creator I enjoy fleeing Kiev the first night. Meanwhile Ukrainian POWs some have died from heart failure since returning from the torture they endured. Where is the ICJ? Why’s it have enough time to demonize Israel but not enough for justice for Ukrainians?! Make it make sense. 🤔🤨🤮

The contrast in treatment could not be greater. But, what will happen to the Russians who are returned to Russia? I am sure Russia will not want them to tell either how they were treated or what the true face of the war is. And what will their families say? No wonder that Russia has approved so few prisoner exchanges.

Putin fears the POWs will return to Russia and talk of Ukraine. No executions or beatings at capture, decent treatment in transit, decent regime in prison, access to real world information, correspondence with families. All this would negate the Putin ravings of 'Nazis.' His zombie soldiers would march across the open fields to surrender and live. I watched this video on an internet smartphone. How can Ukraine get this video to the cellphones of Russians in Russia?
