I remember moving from Africa to Europe for my master study, lost my dad in the course of my study....had to quit school...became a vagrant..a destitute....confused...a laughing stalk...couldnt fly back home to say good bye to him....never saw him again...not even a good bye and a proper farewell....felt like nothing in the course of my struggles.....felt guilty....this song was MY LIFE ANTHEM....LOVED IT....HATED IT...MATTER OF FACT HUGGED IT....NOW I AM NOT WHERE I WANNA BE ....BUT AT LEAST I CAN BEAT MY CHEST AND SAY I AM BETTER THAN BEFORE......LOVE YOU DAD....RIP...LOVE YOU UB40...THANKS FOR GIVEN A BROTHER A HOME WITH YOUR SONG...COS YOUR SONG BROUGHT ME PEACE IN THE MIDST OF MY STORM...

This song has such a deep meaning, only when you go through life, ud understand. I still feel like I’m finding my way. Ppl will let you down when you need them the most. I’m not talking abt material and financial dependency, I’m referring to emotional support. Iv learnt never to count on anyone but yourself. I listen to this song to find the courage to never give up. Life isn’t easy, you have to find that will to never give up despite your situation. Always remember that there’s someone in this world who shares your struggle. We may be continents apart and not know each other but we in this together. I hope you find some comfort in that. Keep the faith 🙏🏼

Personally I don't think UB40 is/would be the same without Ali Campbell's unique voice. Only just discovered this song, Mum and dad were massive UB40 fans back in the day and I already love Kingston Town but I'm 2 months away from 30 so I never fully listened to them in my youth. This song is my new obsession and Ali makes it sound amazing!.
