What I really like alot of this band is that each member plays a musical instrument so well that the sound of each instrument can be heard complementing each other in every beat of the song combined with the vocalist's voice which is so unique that it can leave a very deep impression that will be remembered forever.

Yes, it is Ali Campbell on vocals, I first heard his distinctive voice when collaborating with Pioneers, Madness, Special AKA and The Beat for the song Starvation in 1985 just after Band Aid but before Live Aid.

Loved UB40 all my life; was born the year they got together and my mum and dad were both big fans so i was always going to be listening to them, but they're not going to be the same without Ali's distinctive voice belting out the tunes... they used to be so close so you've just got to hope they get back together at some point.. just hope its not too long!

Bury the hatchet boys! The music you all make is timeless!! Pure class! Duncan is good but Ali is the original and best! Seen UB40 at Stirling Castle (1994), Jamiroquai were the support act. Brilliant gig! UB were tremendous!! Pure nostalgia!! Thanks boys!

I love them, fan since 14 years old now 47 my babies listened to them in my womb, my eldest now in the army just back from Afghan and my two youngest 18/19 with their partners all love UB40 took them all to the 02 in December 09, had the best time 9 of us, but missed Ali BIG TIME, however, my babies/big adults now had the best time .... Excellent band,ive been with the UB1s from day 1. There early recordings are awsome.Earth Dies Screeming,1 In 10.etc. They brought reggaea to a wider audience,and people who liked UB40 whent on to other reggae bands too.

Sorry, wasn't meant to be rude, but as stated, everyone is entitled to their opinion and i feel that whatever the internal politics, on stage they made superb sounds and it is sad that Ali is no longer with them, Duncan is very good and it is good to know that they are all happy as I am sure Ali is as well. Life is too short to fall out with people over nothing - lets all continue to enjoy UB40 no matter who the lead singer is! XX
