My father was Algerian (North Africa). He wasn't the kind who would listen to that kind of music. But while he was listening to french nation-wide radio station called "Europe 1", UB40 Red Red Wine got on the radio and he said by smiling, "That's the real music". He took me by surprise that day. Daddy, I miss you so much. God is taking care of you. Je t'aime fort Papa.

Had to share this. I have a color-shape for each note (each key). So C is red (love songs) C# is red-orange (endurance, vigor), D is orange, etc. So, this song is in C#, with, to me is the key of caring on, going forward. In the song, even though he's dependent on the comfort of the red wine, he had not given up. God Bless you are your loved ones.

I was born on 02/11/80! The youngest of 3. My sister born 6/4/75 and my older brother born 8/31/78. We grew up in a small town called Tenino in Washington state. Fast-forward to 1991 & 1992, my older brother Lucas & I used to bump this album when our parents & older sister were outta the house. We lived on a culdesac, and all the neighbor kids around our age would come over. My brother and I used to make smoothies from whatever fruit that was available for all the kid that'd show up. Good times. I never forgot those small town memories!

Lyrics Red, red wine, goes to my head, Makes me forget that I Still need you so Red, red wine, it's up to you All I can do, I've done Memories won't go Memories won't go I'd have sworn that with time Thoughts of you would leave my head I was wrong, now I find Just one thing makes me forget Red, red wine, stay close to me Don't let me be alone It's tearing apart My blue, blue heart I'd have sworn that with time Thoughts of you would leave my head I was wrong, now I find Just one thing makes me forget Red, red wine, stay close to me Don't let me be alone It's tearing apart My blue, blue heart

RIP Astro. Ironically enough I listened to this s song on a sad March night back in 2006 while drinking red wine with my gf. My mom was sick and dying in hospital from cancer. I needed company and a distraction that night or I would have gone mad. That was nearly 16 years ago. I have two beautiful children with that GF now and we are married. Times were tough for many years but I can say that I am blessed despite all the hardships

Man, I can remember when I was just a little kid when my parents and I lived in a 2 story house, my dad used to play this song on the weekends, years later my parents are now divorced, every time she plays this song I think we both think of the good times our family had when we were together... It's kind of ironic actually because the song talks about how he drinks to forget his worries, and my parents separated because my dad had a drinking problem.. They had their differences, they had their disputes, and I've seen some things I can't forget. However, they are my family, and will always be. I've accepted them for who they are, and I love them.. Stay strong old man! Love you dad, love you mom! :)

I have had a friend who showed me the tragedy of alcohol, and my family had dysfunctions too, but what I see in so many music comments that touch our hearts, is the longing we all have for a perfection in life that never quite came or made it. They say this is a cry for justice and peace in all of us as a desire to find God, but, that would have to be a personal resolution I suppose. In any case, my older age has given me more understanding of others and their sufferings so I so much hope you continue with the love you show here Brother!

Gracias.

@arlenem.6469 Underrated Diamond wrote it in 1967. Like people also attribute "Early Morning Rain" to Dylan, but that song was written by Gordon Lightfoot. Is Dylan a bit too overrated is the question?

@@stevemt3238 The idea that Bob Dylan is 'overrated' is one of the funniest things I've heard in a while. It's like people have no idea what TF they're talking about, anymore. Just dumb, meaningless words.
