That is true @ "shadhom," but the old school music often times has a message & anointing that just can't be duplicated with many contemporary songs of today! When I find myself in trouble...I will sing something like "I must tell Jesus," "Precious Lord," "I need Thee," or some other hymn or "traditional" song! That's why they have been around for decades & in some cases hundreds of years...not like many contemporary songs that are hot for a couple years & then forgotten about...they have power!!

No not yet! I actually spoke with Alexis (the soloist) to see if she knew who the song was by, but she told me it was given to her on a tape with several other songs and she was not sure of the artist. Our Assistant Minister of Music who normally plays for this choir is out sick right now, therefore I have not had an opportunity to ask her as of yet. But as soon as I find out, I will be sure to let you know!

Mt point was simply that many churches are moving away from anything that reminds people of "church." Many no longer sing hymns or "old school" music. They structure their worship services to resemble anything but "church." Many even have changed their names to take out "church" therefore we have "Worship Centers," "Ministries," whatever...anything but church. All I'm saying is that many of the traditional songs & ways should not just be tossed aside, for they have brought many souls to Christ!!
