what worked for me is being inside casino one day and just looking how miserable people around me are, and how i "shame" them, just to figure that i'm the same, if not worst. It started consume me inside, notion that i'm just "junkie" that spends time and money while being miserable. Walked away, never looked back. Literally felt reborned within next 3 weeks. Ofc now i have way more money as well, it's actually amazing how money finds way to you ,once you start burning it.

@gulinp14 жыл бұрын
step number one is : admit you are "junkie" that needs help. Step 2: feel fine with notion that you will never get your money back. It's gone. step 3: you are not "smarter, luckier or unluckier " than people who win and lose more. You all end up losing. Step 4: walk away, but don't stress yourself about milestones. Day, week, month means nothing. Day after day simply avoid it. Affter some time you will feel 2 things: 1) you have more money 2 ) you are waaaaaaaaay less depressed. 3 ) It's not worth it

If I lose, who cares, I can then leave with a really good $700. However after losing the $100, now I say to myself " ehhh I couldddd try just $100 more. If I lose that I'll leave with that remaining $600. Still a heckuva day right? " Well next thing I know I'm down to $300 and my thought process changes to " omg I can't leave with a measley $300 when I had a really nice $800 three hours ago!!! I absolutely HAVE to get that $500 back!!! Then I'll be back to $800 and THIS TIME I'll leave ( supposedly ) " Down to $200, down to $100, down to $20. Need gas but say screw it, down to $0. I’m 26 and have lost 26k of my savings and now have nothing left. I struggle with the relationships around me and feel that I’ve destroyed myself and let everyone down. She comps everything from free night stays, show tickets, fine dining, cigarettes, just about anything to get the guests to keep coming back. It works. She encourages all players to use their club card. It is the casino's tracking device. If a player hasn't been tracked in a while they call them back with temping offers. The casinos know your habits better than you realize.

Part of the psychology of a compulsive gambler is that he wants to always win (well actually he wants to always play) and when you tell him he's never going to really win or get the "big win," he feels that you're taking away all his hopes and dreams. But we both know that winning is actually the worst thing that can happen to a pathological gambler. Thanks for the video, grateful recovering compulsive gambler

The various governments who promote this reprobate industry and take a slice from the pie are no better and are not working toward the best interests of the citizenry. There is no winning unless you own a casino, otherwise stay away from this parasitic enterprise and find another way to be entertained and keep your money in your own bank account.

Thomas McGillivray this is true. Even applies to earning or coming into money in general. I’m my opinion there is no such thing as responsible gambling, maybe for some people with very strong self control and will power, but for a lot of people once you pop you can’t stop, it hypnotises you sends you into a trance and they are designed to do that, to keep you there, so better not to start at all especially when it comes to pokie machines, u can go in there planning on spending five dollars and spend 500 easy. Trick is to make a decision to not play them and stand by it, think about the pain it causes you, Our mind forgets the pain it causes alot of the time and just thinks about the good times it’s self destructive behaviour decide you aren’t going to do it any more and you will never win your losses back, let it go, cuz a win is a loss in pokies anyway and stay away from that environment, and don’t even put one dollar through, Ive had a problem with pokie machines and now I’ve decided to not go into clubs and pubs or drink alchohol or do things that trigger me to want to play, and I’m much happier that way

***** Psychologists say that people who are degenerate gamblers actually don't enjoy winning, they want to lose to punish themselves for some reason. Gambling destroyed my life too. I played Craps for two years. I heard it has best odd to player. i lost almost 50 grands in two years in craps and black jack. some assholes convinced me that I could control the dice or beat the house by progressive betting. I ended up as a loser unfortunately.

The varied response is a huge hook because the next play could be a hit. Varied response works on lab rats as well as humans. It's very interesting.

I'm addicted to alcohol, sex, cocaine, ecstasy, high-limit gambling, cigarettes and also binge eating. Actually also caffeine as well. I'm usually going very deep on multiple addictions every day when I have off work. Not sure when or how I'll stop.

life is a gamble, that's why. How many times do we see an entirely unfavoring situation, but go ahead anyways. and as for compulsive gambling, well, dysfunction is abundant in biological creatures. Some eat a lot, some sleep excessively, some stalk jailbaits too much, and some, well, plays ripoff games, such as these compulsive gamblers.

This comment, "life is a gamble" is exactly why these compulsive gamblers will continue to mug people off and drain thier savings.

We are a society of gamblers. If you don't play in a casino perhaps you have your 401K or retirement account (which is another kind of gambling) and the list goes on. I'm a gambler and I have ups and downs! The secret is never bet more than you can afford to lose.
@acrobizer12382 жыл бұрын
I see why you perceive the 401k as a form of gambling since it goes up and down in stock funds. Yet if one continues to contribute to it and don’t watch the ups and downs, over time it will grow nicely.

I’ve lost probably close to $100,000 gambling and I still love it. I don’t love that my life is now an endless struggle in debt, but I had a lot of fun both winning and losing the money, and my life would have been more boring without it, and we are only here once. Do I want to die a boring life with a Ferrari and no debt or an exciting life with nothing left over?

There is actually a way to make money. Not an EASY way but there is. Read business books, learn marketing and sales. And by the way people do not go to Casion because they want to win money, They believe this is the reason but It is not. I am a recovery addict myself, so Iknow what im talking about

Being a former gambling addict and putting myself over 80K in debt by 25, I've found to retrain my brain and the way I see gambling. Like starting a business, each move you make needs to be strategic and you need to accept losses but become disciplined enough to cut them early, like in trading. This has helped me use my interest/love/addiction for gambling, to become a second income. I now understand bankroll preservation and the unlikited amount of money available. Thankyou for this video

Could you make ethical casinos? Where there are no ATMs allowed, no cash advances, $25 dollar table limits, and time limits on how long you can be there.

Take what you are willing to LOSE and you will still maintain a semblance of control. If you win it is all gravy and if you lose, oh well... Be careful and know the odds going in. A very risky form of entertainment if you have a weakness towards gambling but a $1,500 vacation is a $1,500 vacation whether it's club med or Vegas...
@gunnars448110 жыл бұрын
When I hear people say this gambling is just a form of entertainment, just spend what you are willing to lose, it's similar to people who say its ok to shoot heroin or smoke crack every once in a while for entertainment. Casinos and gambling are designed to suck you in and addict you, everyone starts playing for entertainment. It's a fact that casinos spend millions of dollars to figure out better ways to addict people, and even hire addiction specialists and attend seminars. They aren't focused on entertaining you, they are focused on getting a hold on you and extracting as much money as possible from you. The money isn't in the entertainment, it's in the addiction.

randy109 In essence your statement sums up why gambling is a problem for many.When gambling is viewed as entertainment,we give ourselves permission to lose,a poor state of affairs.If we want to win or at least be Mr Even Steven,we need to view gambling as a far more serious activity than pure entertainment.Indeed if we can learn to ignore the adrenaline/emotional state brought on by gambling we can learn to stop losing.Gambling is a very serious activity that should never be viewed as entertainment or a way to pass time.Unfortunately for there to be winners there always needs to be more losers,so either give it away or get super serious,and only indulge where some degree of skill is involved.
