i catch uber drivers from many nationalities and we have pretty good conversations. Many are doing Phds or Masters and I fly down from the a country area. So I give them a history lesson in Australia. They often ask how much convicts got paid to work for settlers. I tell them a roof over their head and food. Australia is a great country. And the people who built it, worked for nothing but to survive. And that's where mateship came from. Surviving with a little help from friends.

Ubers are so much better than taxis, because they have no cash on them so it's safe, and they have a rating system for drivers so if a driver receives under a particular number of stars they are immediately investigated. There is also a rating for drivers to give to passengers so if a request comes up from a passenger with a past history of e.g. Violence the driver has the option to not accept them. Where as with taxis they have no information on their customers until they pick them up, which puts them as risk. Uber X is especially safe because they are just like ordering a private chauffeured car.

I have used Smart Car which is basically in Adelaide long before Uber even existed was the default taxi alternative.friendly drive clean in a proper uniform always 100% focused on their job and better cars(I recall getting a Caprice from memory once)other experiences include a Skoda Superb and an Audi A6.defected to Buses in 2020 and 2021 as my airport transfer(J1 AND J2)on the way there with parent pick up on the return.I only once against my wishes used a Taxi due to the flight being early morning.never again if I can help it.
