I think if the door was left open (like he said in the beginning) an officer could enter the premises but they aren't allowed to move any objects. For example if there's a bag of cocaine sitting openly on the counter they could bust you for that but if it was hidden and they had to dig through your shit to find it it's an illegal search unless they have a warrant. Note I'm not a lawyer this is just my understanding from watching too much true crime lol...
