He's got all those stacking stamina buffs and cost reductions he can just dodge for days. He can go in do a bunch of damage and still have stam left over to get out after. Even though he's saying the increases aren't a lot it all adds up and he surely gets another few dodges/attacks in. Honestly it's a pretty smart build.

For anyone confused with the ending, it features Elder Jinchi (gold head), the head abbot of Guanyin Monastery. He becomes obsessed with Tang Monk's golden robe. Even though Sun Wukong warns him, Tang Monk lets the elder borrow the robe for the night. The elder's greed takes over, and when he tries on the robe, a fire breaks out in the temple. Realizing his greed caused the disaster, Elder Jinchi, feeling guilty, takes his own life.

@@donothackOnce he tried on the robe he wanted to keep it and burned down the temple in an attempt to kill Tang Monk to keep his golden robe. This is a mythological/culture thing so its metaphorical so no, not friction. Greed was the motivator, not the activator of the fire.
