Just hooked mine up today at our cabin. I was able to use Site Magic to connect to our main house UDM in less than 3 minutes. I fought trying to get the UDM and USG to play nice for a long time. Well worth the upgrade, especially since the controller is now hosted on the gateway.

i see they have an ultra switch too with different adapters/wattage. which one do i need to connect to the gateway ultra to power up 2 x U6 Pro access points?

You could purchase the Standard 16 PoE switch for $299, or get non PoE Flex Mini for $29 and use two power injectors that are $8 each.

I’m trying to understand what is this for and what would it’s use be in a home network with TVs, couple of phones, maybe a NAS? I saw a massive UI. I’m fairly new at networking, if it’s even the correct word, but isn’t the advantage of Ethernet that you can connect as many as you want together (maybe with a router / switch) and they all work together without any setup?

Don't buy this stuff if you live in the UK. The returns process is done by sending stuff to the Netherlands. Your products get customs charges for returns! This stuff is garbage! I was offered instore credits to cover the customs charges! I will not be buying more items to send to the Netherlands! Very poor customer service.

I didn't have this issue as I bought through their Amazon store, Amazon dealt with the return 🤷‍♂️
