Hi, great video! The solution for your question will not please you. You did all things right. Have done it bevore. But with the last update of the unifi controller software some devices get disregarded. The no longer support pico station flashed to unifi. So a lot learned (the other airos Stations use the same tftp firmware recovery - no the is no unifi firmware for them :-\ ) If you want something for you unifi controller take a look at: Ubiquiti UAP-AC-M.

Hi, found it. Unifi 5.6 support pico station 5.7 not. Please take a look on the change log of both versions. KZbin don't allow links here sorry. Google for "unifi changelog" first link and then search for 5.7 and 5.6. You will see the device it no longer listed unter "recommended firmware".

i am commenting to this after many years Yes! in 2024, i was able to run the unifi 5.0.7 with the same device and restore my backup from unifi 3.1.2 and everything works fine for me, though i went through a lot during the transition from airOstoUnifi at first place finding the files in 2024 was a real pain i dig almost all over the internet after some time i did find all i need and all went well, now i use the device to manage my customers without stress at least i can say that! i wont finish without say thanks for the video since video like this is what get my device working again. Cheer!!!!

I may be exposing some kind of a cassandra complex here on my side, but I can´t stop thinking that if you put that device on a nicely high pole in your garden to get better wifi outdsoors, this will make your network infrastructure turn into an awesome lightnig conduction system. o.0

As far as i know (and was posted on crosstalk solutions) with the newest unifi firmware that device is not longer supported. Even with the unifi firmware.

Try to SSH into the PicoStation and telling it the IP of the Unifi controller. I had to do this with one of my UAP-AC access points. (set-inform ip-of-controller:8080/inform)

We have this piocstation in our local school everything was working fine before except frequently limited access , but now everything is down since there is red blink in picostation itself and no WiFi ssid won't even show up in any device both android and computer , how do i solve this please?

Sorry I’m not an expert on this,, I believe it has an reset button,, but then it has to be reconfigured,, and this is to old,, for unify now.

The products I've seen from ubiquiti allows for real PoE too (48V), but allows passive PoE of 24 volts too... I guess it's because the injectors are easier/cheaper to make.

Love your videos. I have a question. Recently I bought a gigabyte x58 motherboard (used) which has a couple of bent/broken pins in the socket. The board works fine expect 2 dimm slots are not working. paired it with an i7 960 and it is very stable under loads (aida64, etc.). Can I pair it with a 6 core xeon? or will it create problems because of the bent/ broken pins?

Try and download unifi firmware 3.3 instead of the latest. See this article linked below. docs.buf4.com/unifi/unifi-hacks/_205146010-UniFi-Convert-PicoStation-M2-HP-to-run-UniFi.html I have read that controller 5.7 LTS should work but version 5.8 is definitely not supported or working. UniFi firmware version 3.3 is definitely the end of the line due to flash size limitations.

Also want to mention the pico station is a REAL good produkt. Have some of them installed. The have a realy good signal in sending and reciving and also the throughput is good.

You can put a wireless network camera in the garage or over it and use this WiFi access point to bring network to it and to your new WiFi lawnmower which you surely need...

Shure you can do dies. Bus Then I would suggest u use a nanostion with two Ports. Main = poe in. Use poe pathtrough and put the CAM on the secondary port. Makes for one poweradapter.

Hello, This device is made for wISP, not for unifi controler. Unifi controler is used to manage end user large scale wifi like (home, school, hospital, ...) And the devise you try to flash is made for wireless isp. You put that on your roof and connect client to it directly. Ubiquiti have now a platform to manage the wisp products. It's called UNMS

That's correct and can be found in the change log. Also when you have a picostation with the firmware and start the upgrade you get a warning popup that you have unsuported devices.

Yes and no, you do own the square AP, that is old. You can use the M2 and the old AP at home with the old controller... e.g. :)

My PlayHouse Hi Morten ! It is an awesome project every year :D Lots of things change from year to year and that’s cool ! I think we will need to improve this year. The first example is the M2HP replaced by Mesh UAP-AC :) (We had 4 UAP-AC HD last year : it is ... so so powerful :o ) We also need to whatch out for the APs not to mesh together and create broadcast storms ^^
