I've been saying this for years, somebody has to be subsidizing the loses. Example Disney losing money on movie after movie after movie. Companies simply do not do this unless they have income coming in from other sources. Think of the movie itself as just an advertisement for virtue signaling and the actual income is coming from Black Rock etc.

It's known as the Pareto Principle. It applies to every human endavour and nobody can explain why, just that it always happens, with everything. Also anytime this ratio skews one or the other, systemic crises always follows. If it reverses you have something like the great terror in france, if it goes like it is now in the US you get things like ubisoft. Tons of great insights from the 80/20 rule alone. Dead weight is right...they got like 18k staff and yet the level of incompetence is nothing short of appalling and feel like some of the more unscrupulous folk in the industry in particular keep inventing new position on why they are somehow relevant in the industry and deserve a job position - ie consultations firms; the black myth studio quoted around 7 mill it was being black mailed just for consultation. The worst part is rather than cut costs where it matters they instead pass the costs onto the consumer all the while refusing to make products for said customers that are in demand and that they actually want to see - also why I laugh when they say slogans like games are too expensive to make, the misallocation of funds within these companies is baffling. Meanwhile you got some of these indie devs over here with 2 passionate dudes in their basement creating better games because they know what players actually want, because they are gamers themselves. Quality over quantity, that's what I always say. Studios these days seemed marred by politics, toxic positivity and a hatred for the very customers they are supposed to be serving and/or selling their products to. Like, its fine to have your beliefs as long as you leave it at the door when you come into work. The purity of gaming has been compromised by people who wish to use the medium to push propaganda, and what I can only assume to be votes...like they have already done to the rest of the entertainment industry that has crashed and burned (ie hollywood, or music artists like taylor swift pushing for certain candidates).

I felt your restaurant pain in your voice. What makes it worse is when that attitude leaks into places where you need to care for others. My wife worked in an assisted care nursing home. The abuse she had to curb was stressful. One person slammed a client's toe into a doorframe and didn't report it at all. My wife noticed his toe was broken for an entire weekend before she got to talk to a nurse about it. Turns out they kept quiet because the one who did it was a friend of the nurse on call and she didn't want to get "her boy" fired so she let the client suffer the entire weekend until my wife brought it up and even then they made her fill out the entire paperwork and made her take the client to the ER to get the client's toe fixed. That's only one instance in that field. If you worry about the usual suspects ruining your food when you got out to eat, don't ever be put in an old folk's home. It's about the same quality

The thing is, Ubisoft's back catalogue is making them substantial amounts of money. It's the only thing keeping them afloat. I have no clue how much money is left, but I think a buyout or something like that is on the horizon. This DEI nonsense started, by the way, with a manipulated study by none other than McKinsey. According to this "study", a company with a diverse leadership will make up to 35% more revenue than competitors. This got repeated ad nauseam without ever checking it or another study to back it up. But like you said, if the rot reaches the top, you get whole structures without merit and use.

AAA label just mean bloated production. Never preorder. Watch gameplay before buying.

16:32 huh... Now that I think of it, that scene of Yass-Ghey writing a big ol kanji for no reason might have been stolen from Samurai of Hyuga. Without spoiling anything, the MC of SoH is illiterate, and in book 3 they write this great big kanji in the dirt and ask one of the NPCs what it means.

They’ll hide, they’re too narcissistic to ever truly change, they’ll just get sneakier and more deceitful with their attempts to socially manipulate or condition us ‘plebs’ from the top of their soapbox-platforms.

The hospital systems are even worse with DEI. I've never seen a hospital without a DEI department these days.

Who knows, maybe it's not too late to redeem themselves, i strongly doubt it but we'll see. Edit: scratch the 1st part .

I bet you, if the game would be in medieval Lapland, the protagonist would be black no matter what. The problem with this is, when a black character is actually fitting in a game setting, nobody wants it anymore, because we'll always associate them with their woke bullshit.

If Ubisoft polishes the turd, it's still only a shiny turd.

None of these companies are abandoning DEI, they're just gonna be more insidious with it. The slightest hint of it should be reason enough to reject it.

typical DEI pushers can never come up with any valid arguments, on why / how its good for gaming.., instead they just attack anyone with valid criticism against forced DEI..

I think Ubisoft misspelled "DIE"

Notice the kind of language they use, too compared to warlord awaji. Whereas awaji says to command soldiers and conquer the island, ac shadows phrases it as you being hunted down and under threat. And also how "reclaim" seems to insinuate that it was something that was stolen whereas "recover" is just taking something. Very interesting.

They still have not replaced Yasuke with an actual Asian male Samurai. Ubisoft will sell or not be around much longer. Once they get taken over. It will result in 'restructuring' which will entail massive layoffs. The comment about Ubisoft not fixing bugs. This makes so much sense after my experience with Far Cry 6. I submitted 5 bug reports. None of them got fixed. Have had similar experiences with Bethesda Game Studios for Starfield.

The funny thing is that most players are stuck grading in the division 2 and know that developers are supposed to be working on the division 3 now of all things KZbinrs that makes division content and maybe are sponsored by Ubisoft are pretty much suggesting that we should buy any upcoming Ubisoft game dlc or any content that gives revenue to Ubisoft for the sake of saving the division franchise. I rather see the ones giant fall and be make an example for others game developers.

I think this is why entire studios are closing. It's easier to weed out the bad apples without repercussion and then form a new studio, only hiring people that based on merit and mitigating the the risk of eliminating the cancerous people at the same time.
