UBOAT is a new Submarine Simulator that just dived into early access. It is a survival sandbox with crew management mechanics while its primary theme is life of German sailors. The boat is their home, but it can become their grave at any time.
In UBOAT you control the crew in order to control the boat. You look after their physical and mental health, because if the sailors are hungry, tired and their spirit is low, there’s no chance of winning even a skirmish.

In the UBoat game you can let a crewmember with one spare part in his inventory put it directly into the galley - it increases morale the same way as if the crew gets different sorts of food (i don´t know if a spare part in the galley can also prevent them from starving)

I am probably going to buy this. I did not realize you could automate all of the metric gathering. I saw someone on KZbin that was not having to manually time everything and it just made so much more sense and sold the idea of this game to me lol. I bought this a while ago and was turned off by the tutorial. I don’t want to have to turn knobs and operate pumps and warm up torpedoes and make sammiches for the crew. In SH3 I had people for that. I just re-installed SH3. I’d kill for a remaster.

I don't know if this is a bug but it seems that Normal Lighting during daytime will always modify your current morale direction by 10% - meaning if you're currently declining morale because your negative factors outweigh the positive, then you decline 10% faster. Likewise, if you're increasing, you do it 10% faster. Seems weird that it can help or harm, based on whatever the underlying "situation" is. If you rig red in daylight, the modifier just goes away entirely. I think if you're Normal Lighting at night, then it always counts negatively.

iirc there has been a bug where normal lighting +/- 10% gets desynced due to time compression. Eventually leading the "lights" thinking it's nighttime when in fact it's daytime

Shouldn't you have to calculate distance first before attempting to calculate speed? The ships would pass faster or slower through the sight depending on the distance. Is this just not implemented in the game?

It looks like he's just eyeballing it. You can use the map view and protractor tool to measure it more accurately if necessary.

@wolfpack345 I've recently come across your many series and have become extremely interested in the genre. My question to you is do you like Uboat over Silent Hunter? I'm highly interested in the plotting and manual calculations to obtain firing solutions. It seems like that's more a SH trait than a Uboat trait but I've only seen a handful of Uboat videos. Which do you find more immersive. For a player not afraid of steep learning curves and interested in the process as much as the gameplay which would you recommend? Thanks.

The warships don't seem to be as agressive in UBOAT as they are in Silent Hunter 3. In SH3 they would have attacked you :D

The blue also helps in retaining your might vision similar to the red

If you press middle mouse you can fast forward time when calculating the speed of your target in ustabile build. Not sure if it works in the retail verson.

There are so many things to love about this game...the graphics are beautiful, and I love the music, especially around the 10:30 mark. The inside views of the sub are great. Pretty much what it sounds like. The men in the torpedo room pull the torpedoes out of their tubes a little while before they're expected to be fired, start the engines, and then put them back in their tubes and wait for the signal to flood the tubes and fire. The G7a (T1) is steam-powered; the G7e (T2) runs on lead-acid batteries. Preheating the T1's engine before launch allows its engine to build up more steam pressure, and turning on the T2 before launch allows its batteries to get physically hot, which apparently makes the chemical reaction that generates the electricity more effective. In either case, preheating when possible increases the torpedo's maximum speed and range, increasing the likelihood that it will hit its target.

hey Wolfpack, is there anywhere I can look up the hardware you are using? My rig is having a somewhat hard time and I´m already on medium settings mostly...any tips? Will putting it on a SSD help? There´s a huge lag when I switch from outside view to internal view or the other way around and if I am close to enemy ships, it just keeps loading (mostly while time is accelerated) and I end up way too close to them, e.g. well within view distance...

15:38n Not sure if anyone answered this question, while in port you order med kits and have at least one or two officers carrying a medkit and send them to any sailor that is having a heart attack. I always have every officer carrying re-breathers, one carrying a medkit, another carrying bolds, and the rest with mechanical parts.,
