We lost much in translation. The word Asia in greek means resurrection or rising son from Latin Asia, from Greek Asia, speculated to be from Akkadian asu "to go out, to rise," The church in greek means Church The word translated "church" in the English Bible is ekklesia. This word is the Greek words kaleo (to call), with the prefix ek (out). Thus, the word means "the called out ones." However, the English word "church" does not come from ekklesia but from the word kuriakon, which means "dedicated to the Lord." There are seven continents. the letters are to God's called out ones on every continent. So the translation could have been seems to me letters to the seven continents to those of the resurrection. Then you go look into the meanings of the names of the churches. Ladocia The name Laodicea: Summary Meaning Place Of People Of Common Fairness common Fairness This is why you hear democracy never ending. America is a republic. Individual liberty Not a democracy where majority rules this is not of God. God rules. His word is true no matter the minority or majority. Ladocia has stern warnings.

You talk of context yet fail to see the very essence of the context. The 7 letters are to Jewish believers. Re-read the 7 letters with a Jewish mindset and it will jump right out at you. Jesus is NOT talking to Gentiles here. He sent Paul to be our apostle with a message for us Eph 3:3. Jesus only speaks in the Bible to Jews Rom 15:8, and especially in the book of the revelation. After all they are the ones who will go through the time of Jacobs trouble, not us ! ! !

But the church is always referred to for the Christians, the bride, Jews don't have churches but synagogues. Even in a verse it says "Jews who are of the synagogue of Satan", in a letter written to a Church. Why wouldn't these be letters to the synagogues?

@@jboxy The Greek word is Ecclesia. It litterly means an assembly. The King James translators translated the word as Church. Obviously a church is an assembly but so is a synagogue. It really doesn't matter what you want to call the "assembly" My point is that the letters are heavily Jewish and intended for those who will go through the " Time of JACOBS trouble" Regarding the bride issue; there is absolutely no verse in the Bible that says the gentile church is the bride. There are more than a few verses where God declares how He was a husband to the Jews. But now has divorced them Jer 3:8 This is only a temporary situation that will change when the Jews declare Jesus as their Messiah, at which point Christ will re-marry them (spiritually speaking ) Jer 29:11

Revelation and tribulation are written to/for Israel. the Body of Christ has no context in them. those in vs 2-3 are kingdom churches and are reestablished during the tribulation.
