having experienced the Ubud market since 1993, I love it the way it was, so much soul. Now its a concrete jungle full of whiteman style stores.

It has not been years, it's been maybe 1 and a half years tops. It came about due to a couple of fires that happened in the old markets so a rebuild was required. Very similar to Sukawati Market.

Thanks for showing us around. I hate to say it but i think i prefer the old style market. It was dirty and smelly - but it had it's own cool vibe and 'life'. I feel sorry for the people who own the upstairs stores as i am not sure they will get the foot traffic the others get.

Their was less traffic upstairs, we went in the afternoon and it was the first sale for some people.
