I've installed Fedora 39 on my laptop, and WiFi disappeared. Is there any solution to this?

What model of wireless card? Search the Fedora forums to see if there are any known issues/fixes.

Fedora does seem to offer more up-to-date Kernel, Desktop Environment, Shell, and package versions, seamlessly doesn't lock users to just Snap format. On the other hand, the utilization of memory is way too larger. May it be the reason Fedor has couple of hundreds of packages more preinstalled han Ubuntu? Nice video, however would ben good to see an indicator which video was speed up by how much, as sometimes it felt like only Ubuntu needed speeding.

Thanks for watching. They are run side by side. If I speed up to video they are both sped up together. I typically speed up by 600%

Another case of Linux ate my RAM ? More seriously, unused RAM is useless.

What 'locks' the users to a format?
@Mr.Thursday Жыл бұрын
@@apo.7898 i understand the company behind Ubuntu seems to be very keen on their own snaps, imo however it would been nice if they could add also flatpak repos to the store by default

I'm new to Linux and I keep switching between these two because I like them the best, but I don't like Snap, and though I don't know about it all, as a new user, it does feel super slow in comparison. But I like how there's WAY more info and support for questions on Ubuntu side. I also kind of like the look more. DNF is slow it seems even with the tweaks. I don't know, but what I do like is I have choices and so far being a new Linux person, I'm a fan of it! Just wish I knew it already like I do Windows lol. Anyway awesome video, didn't help the undecisive like me, but it was a very helpful resource.

Give Debian 12 with KDE a try or Linux Mint if you want to avoid snaps. Thanks for watching.

What a great video. To me the best one right now is Fedora because it is the only distro which does not give me any sound problems and it finds any audio device/cards on my laptops. Thanks for your video and your time.

Good presentation but you made a mistake. If you see on 11:13 there is also a Debian Inkscape package. Personally I use Windows now on the laptop I own (sorry). But I plan to make a Linux desktop. I don't know much about the recent developments though.. But if you see snap also has what is called 'channels', which is a nice concept so you can choose e.g. between Inkscape-stable and Inkscape-dev. The ideal would be imho to be able to install multiple versions of the same application, something which as far as I remember was not possible. But as I said I don't know how both have evolved.

KDE looks a lot like windows. Gnome the macOS feel. The resource usage in my experience favors KDE as being lighter. It really depends on what you are going to use your machine for.

@@TheLinuxITGuy i am a general user. I like customisation, lot of features & and built in apps of kde. + Kde is lighter as well. So i decided to go with kde. For me kde is out of the box completed. I hope kde will improve there ui like gnome.kde have really old ui.
