i saw on an email by uci that we will be randomly assigned spops?? like honors kids get spop 1 but the rest get any where from 2-10 is that true?

Hmmm honestly idk them if they decided to change it this year maybe because of restrictions or something but in years past it’s more or less been on a first come first serve basis.

The decisions deadline for transfers is June1 and Can you talk more about transfers opportunities? And for their classes how can they survive the registration for classes? Thank you

So I’m not a transfer so I don’t know personally, but I do know that about 20% of a classes total enrollment is closed off for transfers to be able to enroll in the classes. And transfers are also encouraged to join clubs to better aclimate to the campus. Many of the counselors will try their best to get you a working schedule the first time around, but after that you’ll have a standing in the school so you’ll be able to figure it out yourself! There is also a SPOP dedicated to specifically transfers to get better advice! And the transfers counselors help until you feel comfortable.

I'm a 3rd year transfer at UCI in Social Sciences and the registration process the first time was super easy. Once you commit, they'll send you an email with a date for your major's orientation that is only for transfers. During this, you usually meet with a counselor and they help you make your first schedule as well as your education plan. UCI sets aside spots for transfer students for the fall quarter which is really nice. I've never had an issue getting the classes I need! Some of the majors that are more crowded may be a little different, but everyone in social sciences at least has been super helpful :) Good luck with your decision!

Thanks a ton for your help :) Any tips for incoming students about the quarter system and doing online due to covid-19? That's what I've been nervous about the most

I’m glad I was able to help! That was what I wanted this channel to do is show people some truths to UCI. I will do future videos on the questions you have! But for a quick answer. Quarter system moves very quickly and you really have to stay on top of things. And for the online system. It is difficult but some professors are more lenient with the material they assign as well as test taking!

Hey! They have not updated anyone on that as of now I think they said summer plans are still on going in terms of summer courses so they may still have SPOP if this is happening. They will probably keep you posted for SPOP and see how the situation is unfolding

SPOP will be virtual this year and housing is unsure since I believe the fall will begin as distance learning.
