Uccnc overview of screens- quick talk through

a lot of people ask about the software im using. here is a brief overview of the standard screens- showing its familiarity with other software like mach 3. the standard screens are very intuitive and well laid out- but can be customised quite easily by the user- adding buttons and functions etc.

Did you manually set the tool table offsets or use a macro? Currently have my atc machine probe off for every tool change, want to incorporate the tool table to my macro to speed things up

Nikita Skakun my probing macro saves every tool length to the table. Much faster that way

Im trying to set up uccnc to start the arc relay via a gecko g540 im using pin 17 port 1 but the torch on button does not trip the relay.

Can you configure it so that big reset button isn’t flashing? That would drive me nuts. Maybe make it static yellow on standby and red while running?

It only flashes in reset. Ie when not at the machine!

I am new to the UCCNC Control software and I have run into a couple of problems that you might be able to help me with. When I enable Soft Limits I get an error message that says my machine has reached a Soft Limit on all axis when I attempt to calibrate my axis. Iam not running and Limit Switches intending only to use the Soft Limits. Also I'm using the Gecko G540 Stepper Driver and I can find no reference to the Enable Pin or Port along with the Touch Probe Port or Pin. I am getting both the Green and Blue Led's when I have everything loaded. Do you have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong.

Hi can the tool numbers 1-99 be used for lengths and tool radius for example using g41 or g42 with a D then one of the tool numbers to call up a tool a radius

at the moment g41, g42 isnt implemented. so tool table has length offsets only.

automateanything Thanks looks a nice set up especially using a Galil with the mitsubishi drives...did you write your own plug in for the Galil and which Galil card is it? John

there is no plugin required- just a program running independantly in the galil. - so its a stand alone setup- will work with mach 3, mach4 etc etc too. (with no jumping, timing errors or jittering from the plugin) the mitsubishi servos run perfectly in step/direction mode too-which is why i use them on most of my equipment, but i had one handy just to show it working to test it. and they are real easy to change their setup when you know how. it will work with any of the galil controllers- as long as you have the required number of axis- (shown here running off a 2183 ethernet 8 axis controller- again as i had one on the shelf to test with.) i have had it running for a few days now- with no loss of position or any errors- up to full speed of servo at 3000 rpm.

automateanything Yes got the wrong video lol..very interesting seeing the Galil running like that..presumably you could run an mpg as well? .not having to have a plug in makes life easier..I noticed vital systems do a motion card similar in spec to the Galil but cheaper and has an optional plug in ethercat board for ethernet drives.
