So great to hear how someone can be so humble in being admitted to great schools that are even harder to transfer to compared to being admitted as a freshman. I applied as a freshman and was denied, I’m at community college and feel like applying again because I’m doing so well my freshman year. This video inspired me... thank you!

Your video was so helpful and went straight to the point! It was great hearing about the atmosphere of the college. I was wondering if you could answer how financial aid and scholarships were as a transfer student. Thank you!

Really liked the video, but just to be clear, Hyde Park is a neighborhood in the City of Chicago, it is not a suburb of Chicago.

can you give more tips on transferring? did you have to submit your sat or act scores? did you retake the act or sat to submit for scores or did you submit old scores (that were sent for your old school)? was your previous school a state school in california or where? what’s the benefits of you going to uchicago private? all the classes are small?

Yes sure, I can definitely make a video like that

Hello Alison, I just applied to transfer to Columbia and U Chicago! Could you please briefly talk about the importance of standardize test in the transfer process and your Experience. Cause I have a very high college GPA but a high 20s act score which is not ideal for schools like Uchicago and Columbia. Thanks!

It's definitely a piece of the transfer process, but I personally feel like GPA is more relevant because it shows how you performed over the course over a full year versus one test day. If you have old AP scores or SAT Subject Test scores, I'd send those along as well!

Hi Alison, do you know if having 2 years at a previous college will decrease chances of admission to U of Chicago? Or does it vary on the transferable credits which will determine how many years you have to fulfill at U of Chicago?

Can you go to another university for 1 year and then finish the last 3 years at uchicago??

When I transferred I was planning on majoring in either Cinema and Media or Psychology - ended up being a Psychology major!
