Motion: There exists a technology, The "Guiltometer", which measures the amount of guilt a person feels about a particular crime they have committed. It also contains information on the average level of guilt felt for any crime so that it can quantify how much more or less than average guilt an individual feels for a crime they have committed.
Using the guiltometer, THW use guilt as a mitigating circumstance (decreasing punishment) and lack of it as an aggrevating circumstance (increasing punishment) in sentencing (Guiltometer)

Cld it be argued that an attempt at a guiltometer already exists - the judge uses the course of the trial to determine remorse in the status quo and then alters sentence up or down? What changes is precision to which this can be calculated. This ties into the principle of proportionality, but is it also a more just distribution of that principle? Because the rich can afford training and better lawyers to come across as remorseful, but also from the judge's perspective their own biases (eg. if criminal from same socioeconomic background as them) become superseded?

Yeah but you are simitrising a lot of the debate which holds risks - I.E. maybe the judge doesn’t buy your framing and then what? Please check out the framing vid for more info :)
