Have you [joined] or are you planning on joining the Undergraduate Business Society? Additionally, some good alternative majors would be the various math majors [like Stats; a growing number of Econ/BusEcon students are adding this as a minor or as a double major; there's Math/Econ; Financial/Actuarial, etc.], which would give someone a good quant-based background. Hi Meili, great video! I wanted to ask if business-econ is math-heavy, or if the math is difficult. I'm not very good at math, and I heard from some UCLA students that the economics classes are very math-based, and that the math in econometrics is really hard. What are your thoughts?

Econometrics usually only has stats, and the math is "hard" because your theory classes will use a lot of calculus and algebra, but it's not impossible for someone who isn't really good at math.

thank you! I got the Tezza wall collage kit :) but you can also find a lot of collage kits on Amazon, I have a bunch listed on my Amazon storefront! And I just used regular scotch tape to put them up

I already graduated with a biz econ major, I don’t know why I’m watching this 🤣. One thing I’ll add tho would be for everyone to consider doing the summer abroad program at ucla if they still offer it to complete some of your credits. I did the Paris/Brussels trip and the course syllabus was international taxation and international business law. Best decision I made during my 4 yrs there 👍

Is business econ at UCLA math heavy? I took IB econ HL and it was mostly just simple mathematics (multiplication, division, some equations and graphs) and it was fine. I'm not very good at math and is worried it'll be too difficult at the biz-econ major at UCLA...

There is no undergraduate business degree at UCLA, just various versions of an Economics degree. The closest you can get to a business degree is a Business Econmics degree. That's a UC thing. Cal State Universities (like Cal State U Northridge) have Business Administration majors, Finance majors and Accounting majors.

Probably not as hard as Math/Econ, because the math side is hard for a lot of people, with stats classes and econometrics, etc. Bus Econ or (bizecon as students call it) has some accounting and finance classes that some might find tough.
