the 10.0 was absolutely, undeniably deserved. i remember my coach telling me that execution of skill & dance elements aren't the only things that matter, but mood, facial expressions, and the energy you bring go towards your score as well. not only was every technical element of her routine perfect, but the entire routine had everybody in the room smiling & cheering through it. this gives me goosebumps every time!!!

@@Mr.Helper. so there are different levels to gymnastics; levels 3, 4, 5, and 6 are compulsory levels, levels 8, 9, and 10 are optional levels. level 7 is an optional level with certain compulsory skills required on each event. and the elite level is for athletes beyond level 10. there’s also college gymnastics that many elites drop down to after injury or growth spurts or a simple want to be in a less toxic environment but still do what they love! 😊

Confused on what there is to body shame her about ? Her body is strong, in tip top shape. How can you body shame someone who can easily outperform most people’s bodies in power, flexibility, co-ordination and grace?

Some people are clearly fixated with the svelte' and 'slender' type of gymnasts' body, such as those Russian and Eastern European gymnasts who used to be a staple in Olympic Games.

Because some people will judge you no matter what you do . It's something psychological / innate for some persons. They talk bad of other people because they don't like them-self and they feel better if they make other look bad or just because they have nothing else to say . Luckily there are also smart people on this world that instead try to make other people feel better but they are less than you ever imagine . I believe she also retired from gymnastic to continue a standard college / university course for reasons connected to body shaming and to the " mass media attention ". For me this is another form of violence . it's even worse than the physical one because no one care and it will hurt you inside forever .

That's what I love. Some might say there is a lil extra meat on her thighs so it kinda shows like a dimple for a lil but this isn't a model runway this is gymnastics. So she just has to knock the routine out of the park and she did that and some! She's perfect looking in my eyes though.
