Suzanne's non-directed donation started a chain of 15 transplants. Imagine that - her one kidney facilitated 15 people receiving a new chance at a normal life. After 5 years on dialysis, only 35-40% of patients are still alive. The cost to the donor is very small, and the psychological reward is immense and life-long.
