So he already lives in England, his family are settled in England and he has worked with most of the England Squad. Not to mention he just doesn't have the time to get the American team anywhere near the standard required to be competitive on the world stage.. ENGLAND is the obvious choice. The only other might be Argentina🤔🤔

@@pauln0371I’ve read a few articles and I believe it. At first I didn’t but google it, a few interesting articles. Guillem seems to know something too. He is friends with both Pep and Gareth. Look at how much Gareth has invested in England, before he even managed the senior team he had various roles at the FA in which he developed the England DNA/the 10 yr plan etc. Gareth will choose his successor, that’s how much power he has at the FA and he won’t be picking someone who he feels will undo all his work. Whatever you think about how he chooses to set England up, this is his team and he has worked with most of them since they were 15/16. He cares what happens to them when he is gone.

@@Delboy0 Going to a team filled with talent is not a challenge or something a coach like Pep is going to be motivated by. A team that has potential and being able to coach them to high levels, along with impacting an entire system is what someone who is accomplished as Pep wants. Pep has everything to gain by coaching the US and everything to lose coaching England. First, England is stacked with talent. Thus, anything less than a World Cup title would be a major hit for him. Plus in England, as he is aware, the amount of scrutiny by English fans and media for anything other than a World Cup (especially with someone like Pep) would be oppressive. In the US, the hopes are so low and there is no where near the media attention for soccer, he can work his magic and not feel like he is coaching in a fish bowl. If the US doesn't get deep in the tourney, he won't get the blame, we will all still blame the system that is in place. Imagine if he can change the US into a world power in the largest sporting country in the world, it would be his greatest achievement. I am sure it is just a pipe dream, but as an American, having someone of that stature that can come in and smack around the US Soccer executives and demand they scrap their horrible system, would be the best thing that could happen. He would have the full support of the US soccer fans.

Americans need to stop this delusion about Pep coaching the USA, they neither have the talent or the players able to play the way Pep wants. Turning the USA from a mediocre team to a slightly better than mediocre team is not an achievement, they don’t have the players to be contenders because of the pay to play system. Winning a trophy with England the oldest and most prestigious national team with 60 years of failure, would be by far his biggest ever achievement and England actually have the quality players and depth to win.

@@kJ922-h3j Yes, but England has perhaps the most talented team in the world and will be going into 2026. The expectations will and should be higher than any time in a long time for them. English fans want nothing less than the World Cup win any time in an average year, but with the talent they have going into 2026, there will be an expectation that they should win it all. Why would Pep want to risk his reputation and be torn to shreds if that doesn't materialize. In the US if they make it to the quarterfinals that is a huge victory. If they flop, his reputation will not take a hit because everyone will blame it on the pathetic US soccer system.

Logically England makes the most sense. But really, the U.S. are heading into a World Cup on home soil with a core of players that are capable of making a run and doing something special. It’s a great opportunity to leave a lasting legacy here. Also, for someone like Pep, there will always bring more opportunities available to coach England and/or any other larger footballing nation. So I figure it would be intriguing to try something with the United States, given if the opportunity was there with a World Cup on home soil.

It’s not delusion that the U.S outperformed them in that match. Most of us watched that match and realize that we should’ve won it with proper finishing.
