Awesome ride, Elite team, Elite Staff/University. Thank you BU for being the Coach that you have evolved too for our beloved ILLINI. This program is so much better than it was when you got here and I believe the same can be said for your growth as well. Thank you all, diehard ILLINI fan!

When Dain was in there they seemed to put their center outside to bring Dain out too. Quite surprised yet it showed great respect for what Dain brought to the table. Way to go Illini.

Illinois has been playing at such a high level for 6 or 7 games. A letdown was bound to happen. It just looks much worse when you're playing against a team like U Conn. Congratulations to both programs.

Great season Illini. One negative thought though. Brad confuses me with his coaching at times. Bad plan and he stuck with it until it didn’t matter anymore. Took his team out the game.

Anyone remember coach Pete Newell? His son coached at Santa Cruz, CA high school for 3o year. Pete coached the Cal men's team to 59-60 NCAA championship. He had a great college career, and he also wrote a few books on coaching basketball. Bobby Knight referred to them frequently. Anyone want to mail a copy to Brad Underwood? Good guy, and I see him as an excellent rec center director where he hands some talented team a few balls reminding them to return them when they are done playing. It is obvious he is completely lost in a basketball game requiring basic HS coaching skills. H's an excellent recruiter, and his team is good enough to play a free spirited brand of street ball. I first note this shortcoming with Underwood about 6-7 years ago. Send him to coaching camps or simply get a better coach.

Yes. Underwood keeps saying big ten championship, but it was the tourney championship.

@@bobsatek Shannon's record-setting performance in the Big 10 Tournament produced the expectation he would do the same in NCAA. But UConn demanded a script change.

Zero adjustments made in the game. 0 for 19 going against clingan in paint and still trying to do the same crap. Underwood went back to being stubborn again. You have to do something to stop the run and never allow 30 nothing run. Try full court press try zone mix things up. But nothing was done. Illinois looked shell shocked and once the run happened the game was over

The love for this guy Brad underware is unbelievable. I like Illinois but I only pay attention to them in tournament time and still then you don't know because they are so unpredictable.i bet they don't touch them in Vegas but they will pay someone one day.

If uw doesn't grow as a coach he will continue having a similar ceiling for his teams. He's gotta learn better. Like that teams that go all the way usually have a true point guard and big man who can play with his back to the basket and clear space on the lane. He had a great one in DD and why he undervalued him to the extent he did is something I hope to never see again.

Why weren’t there fouls called on their big man near the basket when we were close inside. Don’t the refs call those fouls against UConn
