What’s interesting about this interview is how differently a more composed coach would answer the ranking question. Bill Self for example always says the ranking doesn’t matter in November, he wants his team playing its best in March. My point is that Dan’s ego seems more important to him than the in-season development of his team based on how he answers the ranking question.

The problem is Diarra may be the best on ball defender in the Big East and Uconn doesnt have nearly the same rim protection in the paint this season. Its imperative he's on the court as much a possible to keep the ball out of the paint. He's also a good offensive player and ball handler. Mahaney is a gifted offensive player but I see him getting heavy minutes at shooting guard...
