I love Big East basketball, but also understand the financials associated with football. Wish it didn’t come to that, but that’s the way it goes. Basically, in order for basketball to remain financially viable in the long run, UConn football needs to be part of a major football conference, where it will struggle in perpetuity.

I have listened to Pete Mundo for some time and I appreciate his points. However, if I were UConn the ACC makes more sense and the ACC should invite UConn. Will they? I don't know. If UConn receives a Big XII invite I would take it if it is all sports. I would not take it if it doesn't include football. Now, if it's an invite with a delayed entry for football, I don't know. I would want to be sure that football is going to be included, because otherwise I would not leave the Big East.

I feel like the Big 12 is the best move for UCONN. Football media deals drive everything these days. The old PAC12 died because of horrendous media deal. We're witnessing the MAC fall apart because of a bad one. The ACC is stuck in a bad one and trending that way too. I think that it's only a matter of time before Clemson and Florida St end up in the SEC. Maybe Miami and North Carolina as well. The Big 12 is more stable. Better media deal. And they recently added stable programs in growing markets like Arizona and Utah. I don't know if the Big 12 survives. Impossible to predict this ever changing landscape. But they have a better chance than the ACC who is just barely above water right now.
