UConn Winter Sign Language in Jamaica

During this program, students will engage in a one-week program in partnership with one of the two main providers of Deaf Education in Jamaica, the Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf (CCCD), which supports three residential schools for Deaf children and the Jamaican Deaf Village.
This one-week intensive program, including a pre-departure and post colloquium session, will offer students the opportunity to examine theoretical aspects of interacting with the Jamaican Deaf community, as well as provide practical exercises in which they will observe, document, and reflect.
