I am currently reading Dr. Mallet's book, "Time Traveler," and it is truly inspiring. I thought it was going to be weighed down with physics and calculus equations, but it shows how the quest for scientific understanding and achievement is a very human quest and one of the most important ones a person can undertake. I think if I had read this before taking physics and other science classes in high school, it would have motivated me to learn more. Fortunately there is still time :)

When I was a kid, I put mirrors aroundthe house so that I could bounce the signal from the tv remote control around, and change channels from another room. I've never been good at math but I believe in this, by instinct, and I've developed my theories a little. A perfect light loop could create a time paradox, containing info that could be changed, like a stock ticker or something, a line of syntax that when changed would become different in the past, and into the future too maybe. Sny time that someone puts a message on it or changes the message, it changes for every moment it exists, into the past. When I first heard about quantum cpu.s I thought that it was using fiberoptic equipment to achieve something like that, in addition to using a qubit, a new character that is both 1 and 0. Then I researched it and found out I was wrong. But if this is real and it hasn't been done yet, maybe I have some ideas to contribute. How would I volunteer those to prof. Mallet?
@alanmalcheski88823 жыл бұрын
A perfect light loop requires perfect mirrors. Perfect mirrors are not mirrors. They are high power electromagnets. The magnets bend the light, but do not compromise it in any other way. In a vacuum, light doesn't slow down either. Do people here understand what I'm saying? If a loop of light is just existing, without any friction, or anything... lots of things could happen. Imagine if you added some light, then a little more, and more... and more.
@alanmalcheski88823 жыл бұрын
What the people who thought that bending the light would camouflage things did not account for is that the electromagnets don't just bend light, they bend space, and space is interconnected with time.

Very awesome. I remember when I was a young kid, I was always looking at science documentaries. Also about time-travel, many scientists were ridiculing the idea of time-travel. With the use of paradoxes as an excuse. It's good that some of them are smarter and wiser than that. And researched it anyway. It seems other controversial researches will be picked up as well. Like near death experiences, about consciousness and other similar topics. I hope the main-scientific community becomes more supportive of these free-spirits. Let me finish this comment by a very interesting quote by the Wright brothers. “No flying machine will ever fly from New York to Paris … [because] no known motor can run at the requisite speed for four days without stopping.”

if a parallel universe is created then time travel to go back in time is pointless. Not only will you not be able to save your real father in this universe but the man you do save will already have a son that looks like your 10 year old self but ultimately isn't, and you'll have nothing in a universe where you don't belong.
@scottcupp81295 жыл бұрын
He knows. He was just mentioning that as an inspiration for time travel. Maybe that is what he wanted to do initially but the fact of the matter is, he knows that cannot happen.

If the clock runs slower as it moves faster then, to us standing on earth with our clock we see our clock running at regular time and the clock that is moving is running slower as it goes around it's path. When it comes back and we compare clocks our clock will be ahead. Now to an observer in the vehicle of the moving clock, to him it is the earth together with the "stationary" clock that is actually moving around with respect to him and so the clock that was previously the stationary one is the one running slower to him and the clock next to him in the vehicle is running in "regular" time. So when he gets back and meets the other guys, he should see his vehicle clock running ahead of the so called stationary clock. So at the same point in time one guy sees one clock ahead of the other and the other guy sees the opposite clock ahead? So we have a clock A with observer A on earth. Clock B with observer B on earth and ready to go on a trip. The two clocks are synchronized and clock B with observer B takes off. Observer A would see clock B running slower and would see observer B's heart and breathing rate running slower. Observer B would observe his clock running normally and because relative to him clock A and observer A are moving at a high velocity, clock A would appear to run slower and Observer A's heart and breathing rate would appear slower. So when Observer and clock B get back, when he compares Clock A to clock B, clock A is behind. But to observer A, when clock B and observer B come back and the clocks are compared, clock B is behind. This is a contradiction. But what is supposed to be observed is that observer B should see his own clock behind clock A. Therefore, what is it that is different that makes observer B see clock A actually moving faster and not slower as he is moving through space relative to A? The only differences are their relative motion to other bodies in space, their relative motion with respect to space itself, the felt acceleration that Observer B feels when he is propelled out, stops and turns around, and stops again when he gets back, which A never feels. Also, not taken into account but complicating things is the gravity of and relative motion of earth, but these wouldn't affect the paradox because the experiment could be performed in space, far away from any massive bodies. It would have to be the felt acceleration and relative motion through a "space-medium" if one exists that we can measure..?

Time does not exist. We humans created the concept of time by meaning of keeping track of events that happened when the Sun was in certain position from when it rised until it set, when earth goes around the Sun or when another event happened like when a human is borned until he/she dies. Based on this time travel is just impossible. Space can not be bent. Space is not a peice of paper that it can bent and get two points on it closer to each other...and life is not a movie that can be rewind to a certain frame to live it again and make changes to it...
@loum6144 жыл бұрын
