I feel so blessed and grateful to have listened to you, Jon- Kabat Zinn this morning during a most challenging time of my life where I am facing many unknown aspects that feel scary and frightening like a runaway train when I let my mind take the lead. I am inspired to begin again in this moment because the power of your words have empowered me to remember Who I Am and embraced the Now, moment by moment.

Iam a 94 year old artist of some reknown My pyschiatrist having tried all kinds of anti-depressent during a thitry year of uncontrolllable, chemica, depression decided, the last course woud be ECTs . I have taken 7 years of these treatments and though my family saw improvement for short weeks, I discovered my past had vanished! I have much to be grateful for but these cycles of which I have no control turn a normally positive person into a hopeless and helpless invalid who wants to die. I met a remarkable women who experienced very similar symptoms. She impressed me enormously and she told me jon kabat zinn mindfullness meditation did so much for her without drugs, Am I too old to be helped?

If you are still alive, it's not too late. It's never too late to change your mind, best of luck.

Look up Dr. Joe dispenza. He has made it his life work to prove to science that the placebo effect is infinitely powerful. Basically, feeling old emotions stored in your body makes you relive the past and your body also expresses the same genes. You are trying to feel something new so you must commit and focus on abandoning the old, no matter how long it takes. As an inexperienced meditator myself, it helps to remember that everytime I catch myself getting distracted and refocus it is progress, not a set back. I'm just summing up Dr. Joe Dispenza's talking points. Cheers

Bernice Greenberg- I’m 44 years old and for the last 30 years have been struggling with the same feeling of a hopeless and helpless invalid who wants to die. I’ve been introduced to transcendental meditation (TM) and next week I’m going to begin with a TM teacher on how to do this type of meditation. I’m praying that it’s helpful. I encourage you to research this method as well because I know this pain you’re going through and would never wish this disease on anyone. I’m sorry that you’re struggling too and I pray that you find peace, joy and love for life.

I looooove Mr Jon-Kabat and the way he talks and the things he tries to explain. Maybe because I'm not american and I just heard the speech without the video (I'm sorry about that), or in part because I'Ve been workin as a Medical Dr for the las forty years, I had the impression, most of the time, that Mr Kabat was talking with the inflexion... just "selling" something with the tone "don't you see it, stupid?, it's cristal clear". Besides that, I love, admire, respect and agree with most (if not all) of their ideas and way to see life arround us in his books, speechs asw. Any way it was a honor, a pleasure and a font of new ideas to hear him again.

It always gets me how ignorant people have been/are to a world of yoga including meditation to help and transform health. At 11 years of age this stuff was obvious to me. It was generally out there in the ether in the 60s. Has been the essence of the teachings of the transcendental med movement since the 50s. But for people to gain anything new from being told to ‘be aware they are sitting’.. where the world have they been all their lives.!

Meditation was practiced by Buddhists also, Buddhism covers only a part of what Yoga entails, Shiva ( the first Yogi ) manifested himself thousands of years before the Buddha started his adventure,
