Hello there, As someone who has visited Updaipur's hostel, you can try Shalom Backpackers Hostel. They are pretty reasonably priced and amazing as they are on the edge of the Pichola lake which offers amazing sunset views from the top. There is no issue of security as heaps of travellers stay there..i am not sure what you mean by privacy..hostels are usually a shared space so its all about adjusting and less privacy. they also have double bedrooms if you want more privacy but those are usually at a highier price. good luck with your travel !!
