To me this is they item of the whole show. The interface for both layers is fantastic. 20 vs. 12 voices, an extra octave, Poly AT, a few extra tricks - easily worth $1k more.

It's an amazing sounding synth, fact you can change both layers without having to switch is great too, it allows real time sculpting of your sonic palette. George is an amazing individual too. Can't wait for more info. Thx for the upload.

It looks cool for sure. If that's a 5 octave Fatar semi weighted keybed as well then this also adds a lot of value I think. I like the Roland inspired interface too. I don't know if I care that much about binaural as a concept but it sounds good. I do like the fact that it has a HPF and a LPF. That should give it a lot of range. Kind of like what the Elka Synthex can do with its multimode filter should be in range here. Combine that with their oscillator section which can produce more complex waveforms I assume (I'm not that familiar with the Super 6)? All that said I might still give it a miss. Not for reasons that have anything to do with the synth itself. I have a lot of synths already and a few in the queue as well. I also have a couple of hybrids in my collection too so this isn't a priority area for me. I'm mostly focusing on analogue this year. But congrats to UDO. This looks really nice.

interesting take. I think the 3rd wave is more exciting than either lol, though I like this too - not taken on the HS after owning one for a while though, I replaced that with an iridium keyboard.
@paulmapp8306
@paulmapp8306 Жыл бұрын
@@Screaming-Trees kind of my thinking. Im considering the places of both my iridium keyboard and my polybrute (I dont like the keybed on that). I have a prophet6 and OB6 for pure analogue. The Iridium is still here in stead of a 3rd wave due to the Poly Aftertouch keybed. In not usr how I feel about the Polybrute really. ITs noice, but?? SERIOUSLY considering grabbing this to replace the Iridiums Poly AT bed, and then selling the PB too for the 3rd wave to replace the wavetable stuff (Ive found Im not using the sampling/granular or FM liek I though I would - so its he keybed and wavetables on the iridium that's keeping it with me). thatw ould give me the OB6/P6 and a Pro3 for analogue, the Super Gemini and 3rd wave for hybrids (I have Peak too - but that will go longer term once the live project I use it with ends), then a Fantom and a Virus for VA (different flavours, the virus covering being 90/2000s and the fantom covering the Roland 80s sounds more)

Very impressive. Giving my Hyrda a run for the money there. I can picture this on my albums. Welp, another synth on the wishlist along with the 3rd wave and Novation Summit. I have a Montage, Hyrdasynth and Deepmind 12, and they compliment each other greatly. I would like to add even more sonic capabilities to my music and this one is on the shortlist.

Fucking hell… absolutely beautiful both visually and sonically. The way Cuckoo plays when he just jams is him at his best imo. The music he writes is not for me, but when he just plays it’s always very magical and he did an excellent job of demoing this synth whereas like the dood says, he’d make more obvious sounds… which would have likely tuned me off of the synth.

my obsession with the CS-80 predates me getting into hardware synthesizers, and this looks like it will finally scratch the impossible itch to have one, even if it will be a LONG time before i can afford this thing. the hydrasynth always sounded anemic to me despite the poly aftertouch.

It's SO powerful and great, it couldn't even benefit from a nice 4.5" OLED screen. Nope. It definitely doesn't need that. No indeed. No benefit to be had. A nice 4.5" OLED display would completely take you out of the creation process and force you to menu-dive. Because, as we all know, if you take a synth that is NOT menu-divey, and add a nice 4.5" OLED display screen to it, and have the screen do little else other than show you routings, levels, or give other convenient, relevant information to help with things like firmware updates and routings, while NOT being required to perform sound design or adjustment functions, the mere existence of that nice 4.5" OLED display will automatically make the synth menu-divey and destroy your beautiful knob per function E X P E R I E N C E... now... today... in 2023... when a nice 4.5" OLED display on a massively powerful and complex synth is guaranteed to be a bad thing. 🙈🙉🙊

Everything is perfect. Except for the orange knobs/sliders. From a UI perspective, to me, this indicates priority and signifies more importance than the top row. Really think a more neutral color would have been more sensible, not to mention more aesthetic. Of course these are just my opinions and I have never been responsible for creating a beautiful instrument. A nice muted gold would have been *chef's kiss*. Oh well, it sounds incredible
