It only "bans" you from that specific world's instance, but even in the term of the ban, it only teleports you somewhere else, you can't just kick people by a button like in the video. And even if someone has 3rd party tools to cheat in the game, he can pretty much bypass this anyway. The only way to prevent people to join other instances of the same world is to make a blacklist for those people (you have to be a world creator in order to do that, and you would need to reupload your world every single time you wish to change your blacklist), so it would teleport them away from the other players. But even with that, cheaters can still bypass it.

Is it possible to change it to where it places a Banner over top the user instead like [ Im a Ripper. Block me ] or [ Im a Crasher. Block me ] ??? would seem a little lighter

You can change that banner to whatever you like, but this banner should never be visible regardless, it's only a last resort against modded clients. It's also possible that I misunderstand your question, because there is already such a banner within the tool.

Yeah but i lost the files lol, i'm not interested on this game anymore, i can explain how it works tho: basically puts an object on a player that you choose and that object teleports said player to a location you set. For preventing the player to escape, you attach said object to said player so it keeps teleporting to the same location indefinitely. You can do this on an evening if you have experience with Unity and/or Udon. Hope it helps.

Yeah something like this does not need to cost even a cent. I don't mind the grind and obviously the UI and presentation is a big deal, but nobody really needs the fancy flair... probably.

@@punishedkid The asset price is mostly continuous changes (whenever VRChat changes something and you need to adjust your code) and customer support, as well as adding new features. You can learn more about this on my asset discord. Apart from banning, the script itself has tons of other features, most of which are designed to deal with modded clients. A big part is also the editor scripting side to help users with the setup, since this asset here does most things in a way that is harder to attack using client modifications, so you cannot just expose variables in the script. We're talking about a few hundred hours of coding, I'm getting around 2-3$ per hour out of it right now (don't quote me on that, it is only a rough estimation based on the past year). For reference, the asset has 5'300 lines of code, with another 2'100 lines of editor scripting. And it happens quite often that a users buys it who has zero VRChat experience and then requires me to fix all their other Unity issues as well, just to get Udon to work. If you want to grind money, I cannot recommend selling VRChat assets. But I have a lot of happy customers that enjoy my work and that is worth it for me, and some of the work is needed for my own VRChat worlds anyway.

Cute. So the video is misleading, Players do not have the ability to ban you from a world. Worlds that do have this ability use illegal clients. As stated on Booth, the player is only teleported to a private room. This is a simple onplayertriggerenter teleport event. Other features like flying, even the cute bomb animation don't equate to over 4000 lines of code. At max, 200 lines tops. 4,000 lines of code is seriously not going to be optimized.

Please do not comment here if you have no clue what you are talking about. This video shows a real, unedited player-player interaction which is done entirely by using Udon, that has nothing to do with clients, and worlds cannot have "illegal clients" (as the name says), that is not how VRChat worlds work. You can totally ban a player from a world instance as another player by teleporting them to a ban area, which is shown in this video from both sides. How can this be misleading? An "onplayertriggerenter teleport event" would be a horrible design choice and not safe at all. If this would be your approach, go implement it and come back once you realised your terrible mistake :) The amount of code lines has nothing to do with CPU frame time which is almost entirely limited by the amount of external instructions in your generated UASM, as well as the amount of ref-type components that you access in your scene which needs to be checked against a blacklist in the Udon VM. You didn't knew this? That's fine, but then please don't criticise people who do. All my assets are extremely optimized and code runs mostly event-based, not in Update or FixedUpdate. Most of my assets have neither of them to begin with, so they are not called when a frame is drawn, thus they don't cause a performance impact, no matter how much code they have. You can even write code in a way that a lot of UASM instructions are essentially just jump instructions in the VM and don't have the extreme impact of external instructions. I even make extensive use of compiler keywords to allow users to change settings on a script without having code in the generated Udon assembly that they don't need. Telling me that my code is not optimized (without having seen it) is funny. I hope you can find the motivation to research a little bit more into Udon and how it works before you throw around random false accusations about a long time established VRChat creator and full time commercial software engineer next time :)

This is a one-way ticket to losing your VRC account btw... Soft-banning players is against the rules as stated under "Modification to the SDK or VRChat App". It is listed as: *Disrupt or interfere with the experience of VRChat users* Anyone who was banned via this device can send a "Moderation Report Forum" and have your worlds be investigated. If it were a simple ban from that instance rather than the server as a whole, then it wouldn't have as much of an issue. However, if a player causes this much trouble for you, just leave the world and create a new instance.

This is plain wrong, the quote from you is from their section about modifying the SDK or the client, none of which is related to Udon or this asset here at all. VRChat has a detailed guide about soft-banning players in Udon (which you are allowed to do) and this asset is fully compliant unless you modify it. If people decide to permanently ban players, which isn't possible unless they deliberately remove complicance, then the worst that can happen is that VRChat will ask them to remove the permabans from the world. This is described in their guideline as well. Oh, and it is worth saying that this hasn't happened a single time yet, otherwise we'd all know that. Usually the people who complain about Udon moderation tools are the most toxic VRChat players with modified clients or crashers, so when they report a world for being moderated, they might get banned instead.
