Thanks for the videos, they've been so helpful. I'm starting Geography and geology this year at the UEA. Just wondering if you bought lots of books before you started uni. I looked on my reading list and a lot of them are available online or at the library.

Thanks for watching! I only bought one but to be honest I barely used it and it was online anyways! I'd say you don't really need any as literally everything you need is online

I've heard some people saying you're not allowed fairy lights so I just wondered if you were only allowed battery operated ones or if it doesn't matter :)

Hi, you’re only allowed battery operated ones, which I actually think is better because you don’t need to stretch them to a plug! Plug in lights are not permitted as they get too hot and are a fire hazard x

when choosing your accommodation for UEA, do you only get to pick your first choice or do you have a 2nd, 3rd choice etc.?

I'm pretty sure you put all of the accommodation options in order of preference, so you will list them 1st to last priority (think there's about 7 options). I'm pretty sure this is how I did it so unless it's changed in the last few years it should be the same!

What happens if your a commuting to uni how do you make friends people will be friends with each other in the student halls and accommodation I am taking the train as I live locally?

There’s still lots of ways to make friends! I definitely think joining clubs and societies are the best way to meet people. Last year there was actually a commuting society which would be great for you to meet others commuting and you may even meet people you can commute into uni with!

Hi, that's so exciting! I can't see why you wouldn't be allowed but it would probably be best to double check with the admissions team just incase! x

That's so exciting!! As far as I know you get given your room on move in day it's not first come first serve. But some cupboards in the kitchen are kind of 'first come first served' so I would try get there kind of early! x

There should be an email that gets sent around at the start of the year about signing up to be one, but if not you could also ask careers central which is on campus x

It depends on the module and who is delivering the lecture. Some of my lecturers liked to ask the occasional question but generally it's more about listening xx

As long as the grade requirements are the same or lower then it shouldn't be too difficult to change! You would need to contact UEA as I have never changed course before but hopefully it's not too difficult! x

I’m 20 and I’m starting next year and I’ve been to UEA like 5 times to see my friend and I love it. But he was in constable terrace and I felt like there are probs better accommodation. Which housing is best, I was looking at Barton?

Also I’ve been to A list and it’s quality, what clubs are good, I’ve been to Mantra, bar and beyond and another one called the waterfront I think?

That's so exciting, you'll have such a good time!! Barton is really nice, it's the same as Hickling which is where I stayed and I really liked it. Hickling and Barton are newer than the other accommodation and there are some things that are really good about it like the kitchens are bigger and there's more fridge and cupboard space, but the rooms are really tiny so there's pros and cons to everywhere! A list is my favourite! Yeah all of those are good too I also like loft which has karaoke on Thursdays too and karma is probably my favourite club in town!

How is washing clothes done?

There are about 4 laundrettes dotted around campus and you get given a laundry card when you arrive that you can upload money to online and then use that to pay for your washing

I’m going in September and studying adult nursing. So nervous about whether I’ll be able to afford to pay for accommodation but I think with my loans I will be okay
