That Chelsea side was one of the best teams of the past decade. With players like Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Gallas, Makelele, they were absolutely rock solid defensively. They only conceded 15 goals in the Premier League, a record which still stands today. To score a goal of this calibre is no mean feat. The great Italian referee, Pierluigi Collina, named it his favourite goal.

BNOZ99 ! I got your points on the premier league. When it comes to champions league knockout, stats becomes less relevant. That Chelsea team got knocked out twice with basically the same Liverpool team in 2005 and 2007. Again, there’s no way the 05-07 liverpool teams are better than this current Liverpool team “in every way.” The 05-07 liverpool was struggle mightily to get to top 4 in the premier league. There are huge differences between knockout and tournament formats. This current Liverpool went to the champions league finals back to back and basically won the premier league this year. I’m not saying that Chelsea team is not great. They were the best defensive team in 2005, but saying “better in every way” than this current Liverpool team is an overstatement.

To me this is the best goal scored by Ronaldinho and one of the best goals of all time. I still don't understand how he was able to shoot like that. He had no angle nor space to do it, but somehow he was able to create its own angle and space, a goal beyond any logic. I even feel mentally stressed by watching it because I cannot compute that, but my soul is relieved simultaneously.

Wow... that moment of silence as the ball went in, sometimes it’s the most indicative of the calibre or goal. Still need to rub my eyes to figure out how it gets through such a narrow angle between the defender standing and those closing down the angle. I’m so glad to have witnessed Ronaldinho playing. He was a sight to behold, and there are very few players like him. He epitomized the word flair and was a joy to watch. I still put that short 3 or 4 year prime Ronaldinho up against any other player. He was unstoppable. The only one who could stop him was himself, if only he hadn’t of been so distracted with things off-the-pitch. Then again, I imagine it’s hard to stay hungry and focused when you have won the World Cup, Champions League and La Liga. Just imagine an alternative universe where Ronaldinho has the work-ethic and determination of Cristiano Ronaldo, because we all know he had the technical skill and the talent. He’s still my favorite player of all-time. The things he done on the pitch made your jaw drop.

Ich habe 2005-2006 Fussball noch nicht aktiv verfolgt, daher an dieser Stelle ein doppeltes Danke an euch. 1. dafür, dass ihr das Tor von Ronaldinho erwähnt habt und ich es mir daraufhin das erste Mal überhaupt angeschaut habe (ich kannte es vorher nicht) und 2. dafür, dass ihr mir wieder mal zeigt, wie extrem weit Meinungen voneinander abweichen können. Meiner Meinung nach überwiegt hier ganz klar der Name - für mich bei weitem nicht das schönste Tor der CL. Da sehe ich bspw. Das Tor von Tiraspol gegen Real (2:1) deutlich drüber. Jedoch wurde das von einem kaum bekannten Spieler geschossen bzw. von einer Mannschaft, die vermutlich weniger Fans weltweit hat als meine Alemannia😅. Das Tor wird demnach schnell in Vergessenheit geraten. Auf den ersten Kritikpunkt möchte ich selbst reagieren: ikonische Tore machen Spieler zur Legende. Ja! Aber genauso ist die Besonderheit der Tore auch vom Torschützen abhängig, was hier wohl deutlich überwiegt
