Great analysis coach, one point I feel like you forgot to mention was that Pettis' injured foot was a result of Nate perfectly checking his low kick. Which also shows another improvement Diaz had made in his time off, as it's no secret that he's struggled with legs kicks in the past and never did a great job of checking them.

You can actually gain muscle without a caloric surplus. This is especially true for people new to lifting. If you eat enough protein and achieve progressive overload in the gym, your muscles will adapt. Protein requirements tend come with a lot of calories but not necessarily. It becomes harder and harder to gain muscle without upping calories as you keep training though, although still possible.

How much of that arrogance is due to his training environment? It's no secret Conor and many fighters associate self image with their fighting. Mighty mouse says Matt Hume occasionally thrashes him just to keep him humble. MM also trains in a big gym with a community environment. The Diaz brothers train similar to McGregor in that they are the center of a group of trainers, but they stay humble and connected because their training partners are literally family and part of their crew. GSP of course trains in TriStar, where Zahabi keeps him grounded and there's a large body of new blood that GSP is obliged to help train. The AKA fighters are in a similar community. Jacare, Adesanya, Weidman, and Bisping all go to local city gyms where there are plenty average joes and where they're obliged to keep it real around normal people who don't care about fighting as much as, say, they do. McGregor is the center of his training world. It's McGregor, Artem, Dannis, and other dudes they bring in. But all of them sort of "belong" to McGregor and are part of the show, as opposed to people that are brought in to give perspective. I feel like McG's training environment plays hugely into his natural arrogance. Not to mention he used to be the face of the UFC. I *in no way* condone or support or make excuses for CMG. I literally just thought that up in the shower.
@jakeallstar15 жыл бұрын
You might be right but I think a lot of his antics are mostly positive reinforcement to negative behaviors over the years. Even backstage when he didn't know he was being recorded he picked fights with guys like Uriah, Woodley and khabib. And that was his first couple fights in the ufc. He stole Jose's belt and it made that fight huge. He threw the cans at the Diaz rematch and it made that fight bigger. He picked up a chair to throw at Alvarez and that clip was all over the promo for that fight. He talked shit about Floyd and ended up getting that fight as a result. He threw a dolly at khabib and that fight was even bigger. His antics outside of the cage have gotten him paid big over the years. Anyone who has lived his life would probably be thinking at this point (at least subconsciously) whatever negative shit I do outside of the cage can only make me more money. He has never been punished with anything that cost him more money than he made by getting all that publicity.

For me it was a complete draw , but i understand and agree with the decision win for Costa (although it would have been fair to have a split decision , because i think the boos were mostly because of the unanimous loss ,not just a loss by itself) but again ill defend the judges because you have to see the big picture in my opinion , why invest in a 42 year old wrestler turned mma fighter whom is on the way out (retirement) and also won 27 million dollars in the tainted supp. lawsuit :P , like fuck that guy , i would have given it to costa if i was in their shoes , im investing in the undefeated future generation champ who had 100% finishing rate , Yoel fucked that ratio up because of his granite chin , but i digress , as i stated above , i am looking at the big picture and the win for Costa was the best choice even though the match was techincally a draw.

I would love to see fighters being humble but who cares that they are not they are fighter. It's not a sports where you kick a ball or through a ball. You kick and punch in another man body. Tell me it's not animal behaviour and you have to be animal to do so. I humbly respect those fighter they does these animal behaviour to Thier opponent inside cage and cut off after that. Before this, Tim wasn't having much success. I think the hold is pretty clear. This obviously does not excuse anything Romero did, but one could argue if Tim never cheated here to rock Yoel at end of round, "stoolgate" would've never happened.

the adjustment wasn't out of no where; it was in play the previous round, when stipe started to circle out of the follow up Left hook, and the right hand it was steering him into. The body shot was just a matter of time. I saw DC winning, but I also saw his lone strategy slowly break down. DC was trying to end by crossing the body with the right hand, off the established feint; if he leads with the left hook by crossing in the opposite direction and cutting down the angle, it re-opens the set up for that right hand (freeziing stipe's right with the 1-3 by circling too it). And creates a counter to the body shot {the lead hook being that counter; and the check left hook being stipe's next probable tool to re-establish a favorable angle, for a delayed right hand (and to deal with the alternate to the lead hook, a 1-2 cutting down the angle)}
