You can tell his team studied film on Chandler. He was checking leg kicks and landing his own leg kicks, Chandler has a stance that makes him vulnerable to leg kicks. He's also vulnerable to teep kicks which Tony also landed.

Wouldn't call it unlucky since Chandler said his stance was leaving enough gap between both arms to land an uppercut but Chandler went for the kick on instinct which really doesn't matter. Saying that, Tony looked good imo. I'd say it was unfortunate than unlucky.

Tony Showed Everything in that 1st kudos to elcucuy, Chandler never planed to take this fight on ground but still he did because, he knew he got caught. And that leg kick would have knock the F* out of any Lightweight/Welterweight or Middleweight so, there's no shame. Chandler Hats off but Hey, Tony also Won Our Heart #elcucuy forever and If That kick would not have happened trust me Tony Was Back, this fight would have potentially be most entertaining fight we have ever witnessed.

The knockout was as much phenomenal as it was luck and out of fucking nowhere. If you analyze the first round, Tony was dominating the standup. I'd say even more than Gaethje did against Chandler; Tony was so good that Chandler had to take him down, and even on the ground, from the back, Tony was throwing elbows and cutting Chandler and what not. He seems happy! Which is the #1 thing he lacked, so I think he will still be back and I think he still has a huge potential if he manages to get at least 1 win. GSP, Silva, Teixeira, etc.. If those managed to perform exceptionally good in their late years why can Tony not do it? Everyone knows that Tony trains like crazy all the time, so its about the mental health which I think he improved a lot.
