Volk is one bad MF'er for taking on Islam on 10 days notice! I'm bummed for Charles, but apparently the cut he suffered was pretty bad. I'd love to see Volk get the win, but that's a very tall order on such short notice. All I know for certain is that I will be watching from the edge of my seat.

If Max gave him all that trouble in the second fight, and Islam arguably won 4 rounds to 1 (3 for sure) then it does not look like Volk can do much, he should have waited.

good point Islam fights with so much confidence, specially on the feet, its like he's more careful on the ground than he is during stand up despite him being considered a Grappler and I think the reason is his defense, dude just pulls back his head back and reacts to shots really well defensively and counters it really well and has a decent awareness of shots coming his way which makes him pretty comfortable, Charles couldn't land much, considering all that when you think about it even Alex didn't land that much in terms of volume

Islam wins because he is terrified of losing along with amazing skill. When these Dagastani’s lose they think it’s like Allah punishing them for some kind of sin. It’s good motivation but not the best imo. this whole thing is imo.

@@Bill_Dippertly I don't think MMA is even allowed in Islam, and I don't like how religious they are but I don't think that's why they're so obsessed with being undefeated, its just that they're really serious about their record and being the best and this has been drilled into their heads since childhood

⁠@@Ar1AnX1xya it is considered haram to fight for money I just looked it up, but at the same time Muhammad became a warlord to spread the religion, perhaps their justification for doing this is they see themselves as warlords spreading the religion up on the main stage. Or it could just be them picking and choosing like most people in religions what they follow. They are always saying “i ask allah for help and he gives me too much” or something like that. Even though it is haram they have found some kind of justification so I kind of still agree with my assessment but you are correct. They were raised, and it was drilled into their head to be the best and to never be defeated.

@@Bill_Dippertly I didn't know that, interesting, but it is amazing that so many people think these religious texts are literally the word of god or something, clearly these people don't understand that even if god exists he doesn't need books to communicate and specially god making all these books all over the world and claiming that "this is the one true religion" "no this one from this part of the world is the one true religion, the rest are false" and so on and so forth, makes no sense to me

This should be a superfight. Not ten day short notice for the underdog versus the champion coming off a full training camp. I dont want to see this fight get rushed. If Volk loses we wont get to see a trilogy fight. Also Volk fought in late July against Yair. Thats like a two month turn around. This being his 3rd fight this year. Please either scrap the card or give Islam another opponent like Gaethje, Gamrot, or Tsarukyan.

Lol Islam won't have a crazy weight cut this time and have to travel to the end of the world with a whole country against him and train without Khabib. He also had weak cornermen lacking serious experience. All these small factors determine the fight. He will dominate the wrestling easy this time. Your take is one of a casual. Islam by Sub or Unanimous decision.

They’re burning the rematch. THIS rematch deserves to have a full build. it’s THE 2 BEST fighters in the whole roster going head to head again. They need to both be prepped for each other. That being said I’m still excited lol

In the khabib Vs Gaethje match, khabib told that you must come to abu dhabi atleast 2-3 weeks before the fight night because of the desert conditions there, you will not be able to get good sleep for your first few days...It can affect volk's health heavily

I think Volk wins with a full camp but he's coming off the hand injury and won't have the same cardio (although still pretty damn good im sure), so gun to my head I'm taking islam by decision. Really hope volk can pull it off though

I also believe Volk AND Usman will win. But I could be very wrong. Imagine UFC 300 Islam vs Volk trilogy co-header McGregor vs (I don’t think Chandler). It would be epic beyond belief. I think Usman will win (especially if 5 rounds) because I think Khamzat is overly hyped, and even though Usman’s body is a complete mess he will go rucking hard and I think it’s better if he didn’t go through camp and just practice striking. Khamzat’s chin is very, very good though. I also have a conspiracy theory that both Usman and Volk got some sort of tip that they were the real backups so they prepared. It would benefit the UFC if Volk wins and the UFC finds ways of getting their way (not saying rigged, no).

My gripe is Volk not having a proper 155 Camp like he did the first time fighting. Islam is gonna be WAAYYY bigger this time around vs Volk making a crash diet cut. But I could defo be wrong and want to be cause he could have been training this whole time even with that surgery he had in July

I actually don't like this at all. I desperately want to see Volk vs Makhachev 2 however Volk has not had a training camp. Coming in to fight 5 rounds with Islam based on one week training is not a good situation, I don't want to see them fight, I want to see them fight at their best and we aren't getting that. Worse if Volk loses, he may never get this fight again. I wanted to see Oliveira fight, and if Volk loses and never gets this shot again I will be heartbroken.
