What Alex gains from his participation in cultural practices is his Cultural Identity and to somebody who is proud of there ancestral heritage which is thousands of years old, this is very powerful. Only people who belong to the land (indigenous) know what I’m talking about and know the feeling of climbing out from the ashes of a fire that destroyed/severely changed your ancient culture to stand on top and remind everyone around you about it in a way that inspires and leaves people in awe is pretty special. Makes you fearless and feel invincible which in turn gives you a certain inner strength that allows you to be more humble and become the best version of yourself possible.
